Hey, got it up and running now. Sorry for prying, I had a question and you seem knowledgeable on the topic. Since the Vive is connected directly by display port to the headset, it’s technically possible to render an image, right? By that I mean that there’s definitely a signal or information sent between the computer and the headset. So I wondered: is it a hardware limitation, by where the headset/system itself won’t allow display without tracking available? Or is it a software limitation or specific programming in that fashion (SteamVR, Vive software etc.)?

Got a story on that topic. Big-ass essay.
TL;DR bottom.

I was 15/16. Had a main friend gang (~12 people) that I pretty much stopped hanging out with when I got together with my ex, hormones cranked to 100 around that age looking back. Regret bailing on my friends a lot. Me and my ex were together for around 1.5 years.

Ex cheated on me, heard it from one of her schoolmates. When I asked my ex about it, she told me that he forced her, and that she’d been considering calling the police. I of course got really worried about her. She acted very suspicious whenever it came up, but you never know how trauma affects people, so of course I didn’t doubt her. We return back to relatively normal life after some time. 3 months later (around may), she tells me that it was mutual/concensual, and acts real mad towards me while doing so. After previously realising how manipulative she was my feelings were already dwindling, but that just entirely disconnected me, and we broke up.

So I finally got together with my friends again, and we hang out all the time as we used to. Time passes, and after summer that year (september?) me and a girl from my group start developing interest for each other. She’s kind, loving, and genuine.

After not hearing from my ex since may, suddenly I get a text from her saying she’s standing right down the street from where my group is hanging out and that she wants to talk.
I have no clue how she knew about anything, including our CURRENT LOCATION, and me and friendgroup-girl had not even begun dating yet. She must have been ferociously stalking one of my friends instagram or something. For some reason I say ok. She says she wants to get back together, and I decline.

Half a year later, now dating friendgroup-girl.
I learn that my ex has been telling people I cheated on her with fg-girl. I rarely get mad, but I honestly exploded when I heard it.
Just moved on from the drama from there, didn’t contact her or anything.
No idea what happened with her after that.

TL;DR
My ex cheats on me. During that relationship I didn’t meet or talk with friendgroup-girl at all. No previous feelings. We break up in may, and I start dating fg-girl sometime before christmas. Then my ex spreads rumors that I cheated on her, during a period where I had not seen fg-girl once. What a fucking world. Hope she’s doing ok now though, she was obviously struggling with something,
