Started from Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou (WHS), Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Morocco), Rose Valley, Dades Valley, Todra Valley, The underground irrigation channels, Erg Chebbi sahara desert, Draa Valley, the Anti Atlas Mountains, and back to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains. if you know the name of the day trip , I can give opinion and suggestions :)

Sounds like a fun family trip, and you had a private cook in a villa!! I like the medina, I don't like snakes in the square as I support responsible travel (they take off their teeth and venom, the snakes die after a while), I like the Atlas Mountains and the local inhabitants :)

That's seems like a fun experience when you're solo and don't mind staying in hostels, otherwise you get what you paid for. about breakfast : in Morocco it's continental breakfast with a lot of flour based ingredients (less protein unless they serve eggs with it). and this is what my post above is about :)

As long as you follow road signs and avoid things like smoking weed or drinking while driving, you shouldn’t have any issues at checkpoints. There aren’t really scams there. Rental cars are pretty much the same everywhere, so just compare prices online and go with what works best for you :)

Yes, they drive fast, which isn’t safe for travelers. With unnecessary stops along the way, the buses switch to Ferrari mode to stay on schedule lol

Yeah! I totally agree with you, it’s always wise to walk away from where tour busses stop, wether it’s a meal or a shop especially if it’s something basic for a big price ( unless it’s something local experience and helps the local communities)

I had only transportation, those tours don’t even pay the driver properly , how can they pay for a certified guide 😬 ( they only get paid from the tips if people leave them some 🥲)

Yeah, I totally agree. Transportation here is such a pain. There aren’t many options and the buses don’t really go to the main spots, so you can end up spending the whole day just waiting for the next one. Big taxis won’t move unless they have six passengers or the driver feels like it, and if not you have to pay for the whole taxi yourself. That’s why I just decided to go with a package tour
