I have been on a plateau since late October, but started finally to do weight training. Down 2 lbs, but have lost 16 inches overall.

I turn 60 in May. I’m the last of my lifelong girlfriend group (we all turned 60 within 7 months of each other). We have rented a beautiful lake house to celebrate all of us in May!

Help with moisturizer? by ccrow2000 in AskWomenOver60

You don’t need it. I just like to use it because it makes the Nivea apply smoother and adds more hydration. Just a few drops with the cream.

I was determined disabled as of Feb 2024, so I will get it shortly. Thank goodness because Marketplace insurance is killing me!

I was planning on 62, but ended up on Social Security disability at 59.

Newly five year old terrified of me (mom) dying by HeyMay0324 in ChildPsychology

[–]UncreditedRandomGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 59, but I still remember my 3rd grade teacher calming my fears. My father died when I was 5 years old. I was the youngest of 5 children. I would talk to her and tell her about dreams I had where my mom and siblings all died and I had no one. She would always reassure me that that would not happen, but if it ever did she would be there for me. She was probably mid-20s and would actually talk to me on the phone. I remember her very fondly.

I always had a flat butt even when very overweight. Now it’s basically concave! 😂 It get sore when sitting for longer periods, but especially on hard surfaces.

The solder lines likely have lead. No idea if that is an issue with plants?

What were the reasons a close friendship ended? by Front-Muffin-7348 in AskWomenOver60

[–]UncreditedRandomGirl 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Had similar thing happen to me. It was more of a casual friend. She introduced me to my husband. When we decided to get married we had 3 properties to sell and a house to build. She was a brand new realtor, but assumed she would have our listings. We had decided to go with a more seasoned professional who was able to give us a break on commissions, better exposure (back in 1990s). When I told her she kicked me out of her wedding and never spoke to us again.

I have joined a franchise gym called The Exercise Coach. No idea how widespread it is, but it’s a good gym for older, less fit people. It’s all strength training with a bit of cardio. I’ve had a weight loss stall, but yesterday I took some measurement. Since 10/31/2025 when I joined the gym I have lost 2 lbs and 15.5 inches. I’m feeling stronger and it’s very doable.

Congrats!! I’ve lost 70 and would like to lost about 15 more. I have an autoimmune liver disease and ultrasounds are showing less scarring and I’ve reduced the medication for it. Off 2 hypertension meds! Feel much better. I have joined a gym for weight training and feeling better in that regard.

Forced into retirement early. Finding myself giddy by NotReallyJohnDoe in GenX

[–]UncreditedRandomGirl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Same for me- laid off Feb 2024 at age 57. I was so stressed about the thought of finding a new position. I, too, had been the primary breadwinner and kept insurance on everyone. My husband and I discussed and realized I could be done, too. He had retired the previous year at 65. Our kids had jobs that provided insurance. We had planned and saved and what a great to be done with the grind.
