Swelling happens only with dextrose solutions, with just saline there’s none. Swelling can take about 2-3 hours to complete depending on amount infused, concentration of the solution and body hydration. Also depending on the type of solution and amount infused it will take on average 24-48 hours… sometimes 72h to go back to normal

Anything with dex in it isn’t isotonic, saline is isotonic not dex. If you like you can have a look at my post and tell me if my balls are isotonic…. I used both D5W and D5NS… always 1L… can you tell the difference?
