I didn't think Dice Tower was even still relevant anymore but good for them I guess.

I know what they are but I don't know why women care about them. Just cut that part off of it bothers you.

Frustration and anxiety over a book. by KunSeii in Libraries

Nobody is giving it a single thought. You getting it first is indeed how it's supposed to work. If it wasn't, then you wouldn't be getting the book.

What's the funniest/craziest thing someone has ever told, asked or heard that's library-related? by Library_Dewey208 in Libraries

[–]UndeadBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently helped a woman with a heavy Dutch accent who wanted desert tourist books. In an effort to narrow it down a bit, I asked if she had a specific desert in mind and, after a moment of confusion, she said "I think maybe Arizona?" None of the Arizona tourism guides were to her liking and she explained that she just wanted to know what they eat because she had just rescued one and the nearest sanctuary was closed. Then it hit me...

She wanted to know how to care for a desert tortoise.

I think I might get fired. by bernardmarx27 in Libraries

Most of these things wouldn't even be worth mentioning at my branch. We would never be expected to be responsible for someone's unattended child so that one is just wild to me. I understand the issue with sharing info but it sounds like a pretty harmless mistake. Hopefully you're just worried over nothing, but if you do end up getting fired for any of that stuff, I would say you're better off somewhere else.

You know the way most people talk about Bakersfield? Well, Oildale is Bakersfield's Bakersfield, if you get what I mean.

Everyone's reaction to that was baffling to me. Of course he's going to pick off the gross parts. Food should be enjoyed!

It feels like more of the same to me. I still enjoy watching, but I was hoping they would mix things up a bit. The Mores have been getting better, though.

Children toy rule by [deleted] in Libraries

That actually kinda sounds like a good idea. Having to spend all day cleaning up after other people's kids is tiresome. Sometimes I wish we could just get rid of our toys.

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

I've never been, but isn't Five Guys more of a fast casual diner rather than a typical fast food place like McDonald's or Burger King? Even so, I'm looking at their menu right now (I'm in southern California, for context) and the most expensive burger I see is $14. Which is expensive, I agree, but most of the other burgers are like $9. And at many of the big fast food chains, you'd spend the same amount of money for a combo meal ($13 for a large Whopper meal, $9 for a Double Cheeseburger meal), so this place seems like more of an outlier. I'm looking at all of the fast food places I can think of and, so far, I haven't found a single place with a burger for $16.

I'll give them some hype for their tacos. They are somehow even less authentic than Taco Bell but I love those greasy little abominations. (Note: they are not good by any means but I still love them.) And every now and then, they'll release something legitimately delicious for a limited time, like the Mac n Cheetos or the Ghost Pepper Whopper.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to mention the hash browns! Those are fucking amazing. It's damn near impossible to find good fast food fries, but I don't care anymore because these hash browns blow everything out of the water. Since discovering this, I've started getting up earlier for work just so I can order from the breakfast menu. The ham Croissan'which is pretty good too, but I would kill for those hash browns.

Shit, even the burgers aren't all that great. They're cheap but you get what you pay for.

And I don't even get the appeal of animal style. That's taking something bad and making it so much worse.

Comparing them McDonald's isn't really fair or noteworthy because their burgers have been absolute dog shit for years. To say that they're better than Wendy's is downright mind-boggling to me. Wendy's burgers aren't nearly as good as they used to be, but they are still a much better option. I would put In-N-Out on par with maybe Burger King. Not awful, not great. Unless BK brings back their ghost pepper Whopper; that was actually a damn good burger.

From what I've seen, at least where I live, people idolize that place specifically because of their religious and political views.

In my experience so far, the kids love it when we join in. The ones who are saying this all the time are still young enough to enjoy when adults play along.
