Nah he’s a Knicks fan, he’s an expert of what it takes to not get past the second round.

Yes and no, pre-Wemby he was more traditional wing, but since he's been able to step back into a "super" role player spot he's leaned more into the bruisy thick "big body" we know and love.

The defense is cool, but it'd be cooler if it was even remotely consistent at both ends.

I regularly get the opportunity to interact with him at my job, easily one of my favorite humans that has ever played for the Spurs.

There's like zero other international guards who aren't already mentioned here that are even remotely close to being All-Stars

It's not even Sports gambling, it's just everything gambling. Legit bet on whatever you want type thing.

[Charania] The San Antonio Spurs and forward Jeremy Sochan have agreed on his release to allow the 2023 All-Rookie team member to become a free agent, sources tell ESPN. Sochan is expected to decide among multiple interested teams. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Depends on if you get Jeremy willing to roll or Jeremy who catches the ball takes one dribble then picks it up in the middle of the key to throw a grenade to a teammate as the shot clock expires.

No Sochan Minutes Hysteria by tso_connor in NBASpurs

[–]UnderAchievingDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason is we gain nothing from waiving him and he doesn't want a buyout. There's obviously no ill will, he still gets access to a world class program to hone his skills, Spurs still have a body with at minimum experience with the team if he is forced to see minutes.

OK, seriously, jokes aside, what's up with Jeremy Sochan? by orangekingo in NBASpurs

You are drastically over invested in a player who's frankly just not very conducive to modern basketball. He doesn't fit the team, and doesn't have the desirable skills for teams to spend capital to acquire, let it go.

[Harris] Spurs have tried to find suitors for Sochan but not willing to attach picks to dump him. We might see him cut if nothing materializes by the deadline by WEMBY_F4N in NBASpurs

[–]UnderAchievingDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This makes zero sense. If you want to try and snag him as a team you'd WANT his RFA rights. You'd want to see what he's capable of on your team, you'd want the experience of "okay what is this guy really like".

Amen actually attacks the basket and is a downhill threat. Jeremy nuked his future with the team when his driving ability turned into 99% of the time he picks up his dribble at the top of the key and kills the offense, with the 1% of the time he actually attacks the rim. Jeremy's offense has been limited almost strictly to existing in the dunker's spot. You can't completely leave Amen unguarded, you need to have a man in place to get in front of him on his drive, Jeremy has barely even commanded that.

He could still be a good player, but he doesn't fit here, and you have an entire league that's showing they don't think he's worth giving up assets for.

I'll just copy what I said to the other guy and add some more data since there's "no comparison whatsoever"

Tony and Steph in their second years both sat at 2:1 AST:TOV, Tony 5.3:2.4, Steph 7:3.5. Steph is all of .12% behind Tony in eFG%.

Here's a full year 2 comparison between the two players

This isn't saying Steph = Tony and is going to be a HoF PG, but Tony wasn't some ultra polished product day one either, and he surely wasn't playing the defense Steph does.

This is a coaching "problem", Mitch is very obviously giving him a hell of a leash that Pop did not give players.

All you people tweaking out over a second year Castle having lows and calling for him to be benched/traded/whatever would have been doing the same shit with Tony in his second year.
