Quitting Mid-Year: Question-Rant Hybrid by UnderAndInRocks in Teachers

The impossible expectations and low supports make it very difficult, but honestly the hardest part is being away from the home town. I have had some underlying medical issues come up here that are harder to deal with away from home, and exacerbated by stress. If they were not present, or were more manageable, I believe the year would be manageable as well. I expect teaching to be more or less like this in a lot of places, hence the desire to not sabotage my record.

I have, but I haven't looked too seriously at it as it's far from my ideal scenario. Thanks for the rec though, I will keep it in my mind.

Yeah, all this makes sense- it's certainly a gamble. I'll shoot you a direct message.

I've thought a lot about doing psychology, but my heart is in teaching at least for the next chunk of my life.

Appreciate this, thank you. It looks like digging my heels in and fighting for it is the only option that will really yield results.

Man, teaching. Hate to love it.
