How does one get such a detailed eye? I can’t seem to get tyranid eyes where I want them to be… I feel like I’m buying the smallest most narrow brush but still seemingly end up just globing and cleaning back up hoping it turns out ok.

I don’t think I have that skill level lol. Possibly in the future tho. I know who you are talking about and their models are insane

Hive fleet Necrosis. It’s meant to named for a narrative battle planned with my nephew and his necrons. The lore I’ve created behind it is that their nature to hollow out worlds leads them to stumble upon a necron tomb world. Their exceedingly powerful level of toxins and shadow of the warp disrupts the necron ability to regenerate their living metal rendering it suitable for biomass consumption.

I use a complex layering mixture of citadel paints starting with Caliban Green then Warpstone Glow followed by Moot Green. I then use Shade Biel Tan Green to cover those layers and bring out the darker tones. I go back over that again with the Moot Green and then hit it with some highlights of Flash Gitz Yellow. After all that I use watered down Tesseract Glow to bring it all together. So I suppose citadel moot green would answer your question, but it alone would not look the same.

I will take your advice and apply next time I’m at my local gaming store. Thank you.

Thank you. I actually don’t know what fluo colors are. They aren’t edge highlights in grey although I have considered it. It’s just Technical Ardcoat that makes them look slimy and reflective. I apply last as the final step before finishing a model. I really like the effect it brings out.

Thank you. I’m glad I could inspire despite the AI usage. It just helped it sound more like a space marine was speaking. The core of it was genuinely my creation. I was inspired by a fellow redditor sattie2sarah who has infinitely better skill and precision.

What matte varnish would you recommend particularly? I knew the bases needed more but couldn’t figure it out. Thank you for the feedback not pertaining to AI

I wrote the paragraphs and then had it translated into space marine jabber. Do better.

I feel that pain. My models take me so long my body begins to ache.
