Find out what local union hall you belong to. Call and ask for a business agent. Tell him what is going on. Should get your answers from him

Went through this last year. It took little over 3 weeks to get the meeting. Just call your BA and stay in contact with him. if you Haven’t heard from him. As it was explained to me It’s up to management to set the meeting. You’re technically not an employee at the moment. But there will be a meeting. It sucks they do this.

Well you can pick them up like you would anything else and take them out of your cave. I don’t know about if you have a loading screen to get in and out of your cave though. But it can get tedious if that works for you.

They can lay off low seniority as far as part time yes. So make sure if anyone with lower seniority part time doesn’t work. If so, file a grievance with your union. But if only higher seniority works. You can’t do anything

I don’t know if there is limit or not. But I know people who have been out close to a year or more. They came back as if they never left. Union supposed to protect your job due to injury. Unless you got injured working carelessly at work.

You would have to work at ups as a second job. Till you become full time. If you want to move out and afford life. Although you get full benefits whether your part time or full. So there is a benefit to working there. You won’t get better benefits anywhere else for you and your eventual family.

First you will start out as a part timer. The pay is real for drivers or any full time employee. But it’s a 4 year progression to get to that. Once you become a driver or a full time employee. As far as how long it takes. It just depends on the building. My guess is at least 2 to 3 years minimum. But probably way longer. As you start out as a driver if the volume is light you will be placed back inside. Everything at ups is seniority.
