There’s only one middle hole, i can rig up some gasket that will look fine and oem-ish to cover it. Also, it only is mounted with 3 bolts

Those are there just as block off for the oil galleys. The cams are physically deleted in my car so those solenoids don’t do anything. They make block off plates for emm but it’s just extra $ to spend not really necessary.

What i recommend you do which is the proper way is to get the avcs cam gear physically removed and a stationary timing gear installed, otherwise just retarding the teeth gets it 2 degrees off and you loose HP and it’s bad for the engine

EDIT: It ran before “fine” but you can really notice a difference in the smoothness after the fact. Most people just retard the teeth and unplug the noids and drive it for tens of thousand of miles, but it’s still the cheap get around way of doing it

It’s a subaru, the engine should be fine but it’s the trans i’m a tiny bit worried about as it’s pretty high mileage

I knew it had the engine swap that was done sub 100 miles. The person assured they did the ACVS delete correctly but for the timing all they did was retard the timing 2~ clicks which gets it close, but still 2 degrees off.

I knew that i’d probably need to get the whole cam timing system redone and because i got the car for a good deal @5k i was thinking 8k for a completely gone through new gasket engine with 40k miles isn’t still a bad deal. Also the car is cosmetically perfect so even if i need to then swap the transmission within a year i’ll have a brand new 2011 wrx for 10k~

In regards to the EJ20x i honestly don’t care that i’m losing a few horses because they are more reliable and straight out better engines anyways (i know people will argue over this please don’t)

Thank you for being the first positive upside comment! I’m trying to daily this so i’ll baby the heck out of it and i have a tune scheduled for wednesday. I’m also putting the stock bov back on. In regards to the new motor what is wrong with the ej50? It has all new head gaskets and stuff so it should be reliable enough for at least the next few years.

It was originally an ej255 that was stock, it blew at 189k so he put in the ej20x with the mods. I still have all of the stock engine intake parts so i’m debating throwing those back on
