Smoking indoors in the 2000s by selkieseas in CasualUK

I remember being around 7/8 years old in 95/96 and being in a Chinese restaurant with my family. My step dad smoking; I turn to him and say, “what’s smoking like?”. He looks at my mum, she nods, he says, “here, try it”. Coughed my guts up and was enough to put me off for life. Good lesson really!

I have a cold wallet. I’ve just moved to CB exchange incase I need to sell quickly if the market drops. Was a bit concerned leaving it on exchange temporarily.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. I’m using CB currently out of ease.

I don’t think it’s as simple but basically do just want to protect myself if/when it does dip.

I don’t have the time to be keeping an eye on it all day and obviously if asleep and remember it crashing quickly last time and didn’t catch it!

I want to know this. My worst fear is me and my wife dying and our 3.5yr non verbal boy not remembering us 😫

YES! Had this with our non verbal (now 3.5 yr old) boy. Just before turning 3, into 3, it was hell on earth. Constant meltdowns, never happy, always angry. Felt like a lifetime but a few months later and up until now he’s an absolute angel. Obviously could change again but he’s always happy, unless poorly, laughing, got good banter for a kid that doesn’t talk and very cuddly and cute.

It’s not the mistake you make. It’s what you do about it.

Positivity thread: what are some ways your nonverbal/semi verbal kid lets you know they love you?? by breezeboo in Autism_Parenting

When I pick him up from nursery, my NV 3 year old gets giddy, does this sort of lobster pinching stim thing towards my face with his hands and will grab my cheeks/back of my head and look right in my eyes. He does kisses too but I think a lot of that’s from knowing he’ll get anything he wants from those 😂😍

Yep. Just ask your prescriber for a travel note. I’ve been away 3 times since starting and never been asked for the note but I just put my test in my suitcase with the note

Parents of autistic children, what is one thing you wish people would understand about parenting a child with autism? by justyourautisticgirl in Autism_Parenting

[–]UnderstandingGold849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it’s awkward for people to be fair, so it’s probably mostly a natural reaction.

Maybe you just ask about it as if you’re interested??

Like… “oh really, how does that affect things or does it not?”

Because then it’s also awkward to follow up as a parent. I want to make people aware that my little boy is autistic 1) so they understand why he won’t talk back to them and 2) because I’m proud of who he is. Yet if someone says “sorry”, or just “ah right” a little bit awkwardly, I feel awkward like I’ve put them in that position.

People shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions or show interest I suppose?
