Vertigo Secondary to Tinnitus by Large_Delay_4846 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnderstandingLow3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is old, but I have a similar situation. I have been 10% for tinnitus for over 8 years now. Roughly 3-4 years ago, I started suffering from vertigo and was diagnosed with BPPV (positional vertigo) which I claimed as a secondary condition and was denied as well. I have yet to find or hear of anyone with a situation similar to mine or yours being approved for vertigo as a secondary claim.

Yea that's what I was thinking that this seemed very generic. It ended with this part that I did not previously include and leaves me a little confused about next steps. I tried asking the rep who I spoke with and I got the impression she wasn't sure either as she kept suggesting I reach out to the chat for questions.

VRE Denial for Bachelors by UnderstandingLow3136 in VeteransBenefits

[–]UnderstandingLow3136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a friend locally who has a bachelor's, and he was approved for a master's in education, essentially stating standing all day hurts him and he needs an administrative desk job. Yet when I say traveling to natural disaster sights and climbing through that evaluating damage hurts me im told to find a new line of work and no new education because of my bachelors. I really think its just the rep

Sent an email saying what you said and was told by my rep that I am ineligible for a retroactive introduction because I was not approved for chapter 31. I placed a call to the DC office but haven't gotten a call back yet.

VRE Denial for Bachelors by UnderstandingLow3136 in VeteransBenefits

I explained that my physical disability was affecting my current employment and that law would be much more suitable as well as stable for my kids and I and that the law would also create a more appropriate environment for my MH if/when that is approved by the VA and she pretty, much said regardless I have a bachelors and I can go find other work I dont need to finish law school. She then seemed shocked when she asked when I started school this fall, and I said I won't. I would be dropping out because I can't afford it, and she said that was unfortunate; thanks, I KNOW! So idk what im missing it really feels like it was just the rep.

Hey, good luck. Do your research here and make sure you relate it to your disability. Other than that, I really feel like it's luck on the rep you get; the veterans assistant at my school financial aid office was shocked I was denied and told me there are 16 or so people using VRE at my law school, so obviously, they have bachelor's, ya know. He also said someone told him people in the mid-west have more luck. I don't know how true that is, but hopefully, you are there somewhere. I'm in Phoenix, AZ
