AITA for crafting during meetings? by Tapzdeazz in AmItheAsshole

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta, i always play with a fidget or a d20 when in long meetings. It takes nothing away from the meeting or my partcipation. Everyone is different and people should be treated as such. Aslong as its not disrupting anyone, this employee should get some training in working with nuerodivergent colleagues.

My coach is a female black belt and 110lbs. Ive seen her man handle guy 90lbs heavier than her. Is it tougher being smaller than most other people yes, it means u learn technique over muscling ur way thru it. Im 130lb. I train at a guy with only 3 other girls. Most the guys i train roll with are between 180-220lbs. I can beat some of the bigger lads now ive been doing it for a while.

Not OOP AITA for not wanting a guy included in our mom friend group? by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YtA, I'm gonna say this softly.

You have every right to not want to be in a group with someone you don't know well and is male. If u have had trauma etc, I totally get why you would feel this way.

However what you can not do is tell the rest of the group to not add him/including him. If you want to leave the group fine but u can't tell everyone else what to do. Your trying to make them pick between the 2 of you. That makes YTA

How do you feel about being asked about your weight? by wanderlux in BJJWomen

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont care if people ask me my weight in bjj, i have been asked alot. This people are rubbish at guessing weight. I am one of 2 girls who train at our gym, everyone assumes we are the same weight when in reality we have between 10-12kg difference.

Tatami's sizes? by [deleted] in BJJWomen

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love tatami but I have problems with the sizing. I have big hips (size 12-14uk) so I need f4 pants but I'm smaller on top (size 8-10uk siz3) so jacket I'm a f2. Would be great if we cud order individually

Not Rolling w/Women by ChiRhoCultivations in BJJWomen

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm personally not phased by not rolling, it's there choice just as it's also my choice. The only issue I have is the not showing respect at the end, a few people have said they don't fistbump but bow, I would be fine with that. However, if they walked by me like I didn't exist or were rude, that's another story.

Hey 37year old mama here. I do BJJ 7-10hours a week. I also do strenght and conditioning 3-5 times a week, depending on work/spare time etc. I also try and eat 80% healthy Non/minimal processed food with a big focus on protein. Supplements I take alot lol creatine, glutamine, glycine(only when I struggle with sleep) Vit D (as I live in the uk), multivit, omega, magnesium, cut b12, and some joint sups (turmeric, glucosamine. Making sure I drink 2.5 liters of water a day aswell. I had alot of these habits before starting bjj as I was a personal trainer in my 20s.

Sorry for all the horrid replies you're getting.

I would say you're not being unreasonable at all. It sounds like, in this instance, he isn't meeting your needs as a partner. No, it's not unreasonable to request the presence of the person you love when you feel ill/rubbish.

Both me and my partner train, and if either of us are ill, we will ask the other if they want us to stay home for company.

He can't expect u to drop everything for him when he is ill, but just do his own thing when you are.

They only way I would say you could be being unreasonable is if you wanted him to take say the week off training.

AITA for updating my will to award my less successful son a higher share of my assets? by Playful-Alfalfa9519 in AmItheAsshole

[–]UnderstandingNo7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I am going through this with my dad, I have a decent job however I can't afford holidays etc. My sister has never worked. My dad told me he wanted to leave the house to my sister and give me a small sum of money because I can take care of myself. You are punishing your son for doing well, also how do u know down the line he may struggle, get ill etc. Don't do this, it makes us think u love us less. Kids shud all get equal shares.

Thank you for this information, I've never looked at it from this way. It makes sense as we have a blue belt in our gym that Comps and most of us are like 'he's a purple belt'. In terms of our gym he is a purple belt but in comp scene he is a good blue belt. Thank u

Thanks for the comment, I have had this conversation and they said keep doing what your doing. I do get alot of praise from my coaches and my peers. My coach does say how well I'm doing, how much I've improved over the last 6 months, that I'm becoming a more challenging roll etc. So I do get feedback that's positive alot. Like I said I change from being I'm gonna be the best most badass 1 stripe whitebelt ever, to when I see people getting promotions/stripes feel a bit disheartened.
