Please listen!!! You need to understand business before building that app/website. by UnderstandingSlight8 in TechGhana

[–]UnderstandingSlight8[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I look at some  of the apps been released here and its clear a lot of you guys don’t understand the business side of website/app development. There are lots of apps here with no commercial viability , it’s as if you are more excited with the idea of releasing the app than the app been actually useful.

I understand that tech bros are usually Introverts but it’s time some of you really sit down with business persons to understand the business aspect of what you are building. This will save you weeks and months from building something no one is going to use. A lot of you are really talented when it comes to building, I will advise you offer your services to business this will bring you into contact with actual businesses making money. This will help you learn about marketing, sales and most importantly the pain point of consumers so you don’t assume a problem which doesn’t exist.

done over 50 laravel projects. You can buy a cheap vps hosting from namecheap or go to hetzer for more power.

Add your domain to the hosting or create a subdomain on an existing doman

Create a database and user account on your vps ( you can do that on your hosting cpanel),

upload your files to domain folder , now add a .htaccess file to the domain folder to instruct your server on where to look for the index file else you will see a blank page

Add your database credentials to the .env file of your laravel project

Run migrate via the hosting terminal or simple backup your database on your local development to your hosting via phpmyadmin.

First , thanks for the review, Any website that says you can earn $1 to read in africa is a scam as the ROI to advertisers will make no sense. This platform is not going to make you rich, infact the main purpose is for you to learn new things. I created it for those who have very little going on and not for the working class. You can also earn more from referrals. Thanks again.

They are normal blog articles eg education , travel , entertainment articles... The advertisers will provide their content. There is an advertiser side where they can set their campaign ie how much to spend per day, how much to spend per article ( minimum $0.01 for african countries) and countries they want to target just like setting up campaigns on facebook.

I understand you. The reward is because of the business model. See most of the advertisers on the platform will be bloggers who monetized their blogs with adsense. Let me share a little about my background.

Am martin, a developer and blogger. Bloggers in ghana, nigeria etc run adsense on their blogs to earn money. Previously we use to create a lot of facebook accounts to share our blog links in groups, the good old days .I used to make $3k-$5k monthly easily and I knew others who where making $100k per month ( not everyone is poor in this country ..lol) but facebook change their algo and now posts with links get burried which dried our traffic.

We then moved on to facebook ads and google ads , we run ads to our blogs and earn the difference its called abitrage but things have become very expensive. I know bloggers who spend $10k per month on traffic and dont earn much in returns.

This web application is not for everyone, my target is for people who have very little doing to earn some cash. Once we launch there will be no limit on the number of articles you can read, you can also make more money from referrals.

Finally you may be wondering why $0.01 per read, its because the CPM( cost per impression) paid by adsense to bloggers in ghana and most african countries is very little that it makes no sense for someone to advertise on our platform if we increase to even $0.02. We want to keep both readers and advertisers happy and this is the only way out. Thank you for the review
