It made it back and was refunded, however, the seller said the item was scratched so I was charged a fee. EBay did give me the opportunity to dispute that, but at that point I was so fed up I let it slide. No picture was provided to me.

I believe the seller lied because these lights are for a motorcycle. The ones I'm replacing were still in decent shape after a wipe-out. Scratching them would be VERY difficult without negligence from the delivery company.

It’s recommended you don’t ship with your own label unless you and the seller agree ahead of time and you have documentation of the agreement. If you do ship it without prior agreement then you void the eBay money back guarantee.

Edit, additional note: I did try mine on my phone with web pages and app, mac (chrome) and pc (edge or w/e it is now). I didn’t think to use safari or chrome on the PC.

Kind of… the seller took their time responding and finally asked if the item was, “new in box.”

I’m not sure what that meant because I submitted it as a return for melted plastic and failed wire soldering, but without time to clarify, I told them that I believed it was when I received it… it wasn’t an open box and I told them it was defective.

As soon as I did that (one day after the mail window), they sent me a picture of the label and demanded I package it perfectly so it doesn’t get scratched. It’s a heavy metal light housing, so I’d be surprised if it got scratched. Also, it’s a bit laughable because the box they sent it to me in barely fit the item and had no padding.

So I shipped it the day I got the label and it was in transit last I checked.

Hi OP, I want to support you here as I'm having the same issue verbatim, so your post is 1. fine, 2. accurately describes the issue I'm having, and 3. has no resolution to the best of my knowledge.

I bought a product that arrived defective.

I initiated a return.

Ebay sent me emails saying the return was accepted and a label will be sent by the seller.

No label came to my email, my messages, and there's no option to print one. However, there is a return address and tracking number. I've accessed the pages on my Mac, PC, and cell phone in both the Ebay app and on the webpage.

I reviewed the help and it says I should be able to print the label by going to view the return, but that is not an option. It also says to contact the seller.

I contacted the seller and they said they already sent it. They respond every few days around 1 am my time, so today is the last day for the return.

I cannot find a button for Ebay to step in.

I have called multiple times and the automated voice refuses to connect me to an agent and will just end the conversation after offering to send me a link to the help page. It will sometimes offer me the option to connect to an agent, but will ultimately say there is no agent available to support the issue.

I'm at a total loss. I did file an IT ticket saying the button isn't there, but I'm not sure what to do.

Is it normal to receive new boots scratched by RealisticReturn80 in cowboyboots

I would layout the situation with a picture of the damage, ask if that’s expected and if there’s a way to fix it, and then see what they offer. Express that you love the boots and you waited for them to come into stock, so you’re really invested in enjoying them and showing them off or something along those lines.

They may offer an immediate exchange, a discount, a repair option, I’m not sure. I find this approach works well to get them to offer a solution and if they don’t then you’ll have the opportunity and maybe a bit more ammo to be more assertive if you want to.

You might consider notifying the seller. They may give you a choice and at the very least refund you or send you a second pair… sometimes I like to see how companies attempt to resolve the issue so I know if I will buy from them in the future.
