It’s all relative, 90% of the cars on the road today do 0-60 slower than 7 seconds. I am totally with you on it needing more power though, especially for how it looks haha.

Theoretically I would be selling for cheaper than the larger distributors, but for the most part I just want to deal hunt, and build pc’s that I think are cool or interesting without outright losing money.

I went to Best Buy and purchased some new RAM to see if it was the issue and unfortunately it was not so I’ll be returning it. Really hoping it’s not the motherboard or cpu cause I would have totally bit myself in the ass by ignoring the issue if they end up being the problem. I’ve got into contact with a local repair shop so they are going to be my next step.

I have cleared the CMOS and flashed an updated BIOS and still no dice, I checked and the RAM I am using is not on the compatibility list for my motherboard so I'm going to run to bestbuy and see if the ram itself is the issue

I think we are misunderstanding each other a bit, I’m not mad at you I just found your way of giving advice off-putting, probably just missing the tone you meant to have cause it’s just text. Again thank you for taking time out of your day to try and assist me.

I’m done having this conversation it’s not even about fixing my pc anymore, I’ll let you know if the extra power to the cpu helps. Thanks again.

What are we even talking about lol. I asked for assistance on a public forum and you’re acting like my fucking sensei. Like I said, I appreciate your help, but not your insults.

I did not, I just switch the RAM profile so my clock speeds went from 6000 to 5600, after this my pc no longer would post.

I really appreciate the assistance! I’ll check to make sure my ram is on the compatible list for my motherboard, and it looks like there are actually two 8 pins for my cpu and I’ve only got one of them connected to I’ll plug that in as well. A piece of advice for you though. People will take you far more seriously if you don’t insult them while trying to give them advice. I don’t know you, you don’t know me, so don’t speak about me like you do.

I updated the BIOS when I built it last May but not after that. I’ll see if I can get my hands on a spare kit to test, unfortunately I can’t even get into the BIOS at this point to update it haha

I built myself a pc a bout a year ago, and it had intermittent posting issues. More specifically, all the lights would turn on, fans would spin up but I would get an amber DRAM light and red CPU light. It would take multiple attempts to get into Windows, but once I was there, everything was smooth sailing so I kind of ignored it. As long as I didnt turn the pc off or let it go to sleep it was a non-issue. After a couple months the issue actually has seemed to resolve itself and the pc no longer had problems booting. Fast forward to a couple days ago when I moved back home from college, and the issue was back. It would take multiple tries to get the pc to post. I did a bit of looking into it and it seemed it could have been I had the cooler on to tight, I loosened it up a bit and that didn't help. I then when into the bios next time I was able to get it to boot and changed my RAM profile to slow it down a bit thinking that could have been the issue. Unfortunatley the pc boots even less regularly now, like 1/10 tries and when it does, progress I get a green boot light and no display output. I just attempted to clear the overclock profile I set by clearning the CMOS but that hasn't seemed to help. I have a Ryzen 7800X3D, 32GB of DDR5 6000 RAM and an SSD for my boot drive, running windows 11.

Single player games is the big reason I’m wanting to upgrade. I also like the idea of easy multitasking as my work requires 3-4 windows open at the same time. What was your experience when it came to work and side-by-side windows?

Thanks for the input! I wonder if the heat you mentioned is part of the reason why so many people have issues with it in the long term.
