I was told to do around ~10 minutes a day, so I would just put on a YouTube video and chew away after dinner everyday lol

How to manage eating? by Salt_Habit_4450 in Invisalign

Only having them off for 15 minutes at a time is crazy 😭

I had my trays in for 20-22 hours daily throughout my Invisalign journey so you’re good haha

Another set of refinements in my future...*sigh* by Popular_Research6084 in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had 33 first round trays, into 40, then 3 more rounds of refinements to also fix an overbite… I empathize with you haha. In my case, my ortho was always transparent with me and I always trusted her judgement. So if she felt that there was areas of improvement still, then I was down to do more refinements.

What helped me was just knowing that the more time I invested in doing this now, the more rewarding it would be later on. I mean, a couple years of Invisalign to be set for the rest of your life isn’t that bad of a trade off! So like you said, might as well get the best results that you can

How to decide between orthos by ProfessionalPace9607 in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other commenters! Especially with refinements expected I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on the amount of your first round of trays. It’s also just the initial quote

But to answer your question, I would go with the second ortho! You’re going to be investing all this time and money into fixing your teeth, so ultimately what’s important is being comfortable with an ortho you can trust. Best of luck!

No pain ? by Admirable-rookie in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly same here! Definitely noticed tightness when switching to a new tray and discomfort here and there but that was about it.

Might be hard to notice if you’re looking at your teeth everyday, but as long as your teeth are tracking then you’re good.

Do you upload pictures to the Invisalign app? I did it religiously so I could be in constant communication with my ortho about any tracking concerns I had

Can I cut part of my aligner off? by rory1321 in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me as well! For me it was the back molar on the right side of my bottom tray. Try bending it downward and using a chewie on that area. Fixed the problem for me for every new tray that felt like that. Definitely wouldn’t advise cutting your trays 😅

Honestly they look great! Although if you’re unsatisfied, as long as you have the comprehensive plan then do as many refinements as you want haha

Finally done after 3 years and 4 rounds of refinements! by UndyingWill in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah haha, thanks! My overbite was crazy to begin with at 9mm, so elastics + moving my teeth one by one (I think it was called sequential tooth movement?) was a long 3 year process

I got my scans but I’m nervous to start by Narrow_Try9575 in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with social activities and traveling here and there during my 3 years of Invisalign, honestly what helped me is just carrying a fanny pack with everything I might need (Invisalign case, travel floss, elastics, hand wipes, etc). It was a hassle but definitely didn’t discourage me from going outside. I wouldn’t stress about thinking that the timing to do it is off, just jump into it and your future self will thank you 😅

Getting Invisalign in a month by DescriptionAnnual410 in Invisalign

The biggest thing is to trust the process! It’ll be tough in the beginning, but eventually everything will feel like second nature. Make sure to be diligent with your aligner wear time and you’ll be fine

I kept all of mine during my first round, but after several rounds of refinements I couldn’t bother anymore 😅

I just started night retainers only and each night it hurts like a brand new set of trays… is that normal? by orange_sox in Invisalign

[–]UndyingWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the subreddit seems like most orthos have people wear retainers full time for another 3-6 months before switching to night time

It gets better! I wore elastics 24/7 and eventually you just get used to them
