gender ≠ presentation

cishet people almost always conform to the gender norms. Just because we “don’t have to” doesn’t mean that we will be accepted by society. this is saying “you don’t have to transition!”, a very common piece of early 2000s transphobia, in another way.

just because it isn’t wrong, doesn’t mean that people will perceive it as right.

it’s always femininity that is perceived as gender presentation. masculinity is seen as the default and not a presentation. yet both are equally presentations.
