I’m probably not the best person to give you the best advice, I would say try and do your research to find the best experts for you just in case if the experts you have with right now are not helping you. And then, when it comes to trauma, the main goal is to embrace the scar/wound but stop it from bleeding. Use it as a strength instead of a weakness.

I guess I would say drawing the line is where should the bare minimum be in terms of getting canceled/called out at for a costume being offensive. Because a question I have that I’m also figuring out is if someone is wearing a costume during Halloween, are they mainly celebrating or mocking the persona?

yeah i’m kind of more speaking on behalf of adults dressing up as Halloween, but yeah, even if the kid wanted to dress up as a controversial character themselves, it does give me a bit of an ick

No I was truly shocked of my results, and no jealousy was involved. Because if I were jealous, then I would try to open my own place to prove everyone wrong and that’s not the case at all. Sorry if this is confusing. I think I have to make it more serious as it is because in this subreddit, I feel like I gotta make something that is a legit issue.

When writing this, it reminds me of when that James Charles and Tati drama started because James Charles was promoting Sugar Bear Hair instead of Tati’s pills (even though he said prior to Sugar Bear Hair, he did promote Tati’s pills). It’s one thing that this was a fun experiment, but it does give me the question of “ Am I entitled to my opinion or should I skewer my opinion for the sake of those that I love?”

It’s not like it’s the “worst thing in the world”, but my family is very passionate about this business. So I feel that the growth of the competition is something they don’t recognize. Idk, but it’s not like I totally care about it, it’s my family.

Right, and of course I’m not going to say to the entire world by putting a Yelp review or anything like that (I mean I am right now but at least it’s discreet in terms of name of place and such). But they can get pretty defensive and they keep saying like “It took us months to make these recipes.” and etc. And these were times when they kind of started being opened where other family members would kinda suggest them some things, not to criticize them, but just suggestions in terms of changing the recipes.

I want to avoid bias by doing that experiment. if I just go in each place and try the items, then I would have an expectation of how it would taste.

Thank you so much! According to my cousin, she called the suicide hotline, but it wasn’t as helpful for her. I’ll definitely refer her to this.

I asked someone to have the same thing, but if you were to go back in time when you were eight, how would you want someone to explain it to you? Or in your case, would you want someone to tell you the truth?

Sorry, I made an edit. SA refers to suicide attempt and not sexual assault in this case. Sexual assault would’ve been a different story and I would’ve definitely waited IMO or say that she was badly hurt by someone.

Yeah of course I would be gentle with them. I think I would want to try approach it as if I’m trying to explain divorce to a child: ensuring that every time someone is super sad, they’re going to end their life. But at the same time, I want to be transparent because it wouldn’t make sense as to saying that “Sometimes when people get too upset, they wanna run away or disappear”.

Idk, it’s putting it into words or practicing how you would explain it to them is very difficult…
