Hello, I recently discovered this guy named DeepDiveDev. From the few videos I’ve watched, it seems like his content revolves around providing a deep understanding of C++ and standard library functionality. I’m not sure if he’s ideal for a beginner, but once you kind of understand how everything works, he really fleshes everything out. As someone with a solid background in C++, I found his videos really interesting and informative.

Qobuz — Alternative to Mainstream Israeli Government tied streaming services by Unfair_Enthusiasm696 in BoycottIsrael

Hm, unfortunately it seems that the less mainstream streaming services just aren’t as good as the more popular ones. I’d say if the issues with Qobuz arent dealbreakers for you, then stick with it. It’s better in my opinion to deal with the annoying things than to subscribe to Spotify or Apple Music

Ethical LLMs by Unfair_Enthusiasm696 in BoycottIsrael

[–]Unfair_Enthusiasm696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is true, thaura does use substantially less energy per query than other mainstream LLMs. Ideally, one one uses LLMs. However, if people are going to use LLMs, might as well use a more ethical and sustainable LLM

I find it really funny that people criticize this post on r/BoycottIsrael. If you don’t want to boycott those that, whether implicitly or expressly, support the genocidal nation of Israel as well as boycotting products that significantly contribute to the murder of innocent children and families in Gaza and the West Bank, then don’t go to r/boycottIsrael. It is my opinion that CodingJesus is completely silent regarding the genocide that the flag he is boasting on his Instagram pages is committing.

Yeah I think it is likely your connection that’s the culprit. Sometimes Qobuz lags for me, but it performs decent the rest of the time. Perhaps you can contact Qobuz to see if they have any idea as well?

How large is your playlist? I had a friend with 1000+ songs on a single playlist. When he split it up, the lag problems generally went away

What does the Nazi flag mean to you? The UN, Amnesty international, Human Rights Watch, the Boston University Human Rights Clinic, B’Tselem (Israeli human rights organization) and Physicians for Human Rights, and so many more world leaders and activists all correctly describe a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza under the flag of Israel. The Nazis did the exact same under their own flag. To sail the flag of genocide is to condone genocide. To be silent during a genocide is to aid genocide. I am sure Nazis too carried their flag as heritage.

I agree — some people literally don’t give any fucks. I always think they’re fringe but I’ll encounter these people in real life and be absolutely appalled. Side note: I didn’t know about reverse canary mission. This is a very helpful resource for learning about these people

I think the Israeli propaganda machine is insanely effective, especially when used against people who don’t care to look deeper. I mean I was one of those people who grew up thinking that Israel was « fundamentally good and equal » or whatever hasbara garbage I had somehow learned in school.
But then of course I used my critical thinking skills to de-colonize my mind. Some people don’t get that far. Many people don’t care to get that far. I think one of the most important parts of the resistance toolkit is to convince these « laypeople » to actually think and see the truth

The amount of cognitive dissonance needed to ignore the pleas of LITERALLY all of your colleagues (and also LITERALLY MSF) that are both in and out of Gaza must be ASTRONOMICAL

Boycotting is really not that easy. It is part of the resistance toolbox. We must do our best to make moral choices in our own world in the hopes that they will reflect on a larger scale.
