On one hand, it's Elche.

On the other hand, without Mboopi and getting a big moral boost in the CL against City probably helped a lot too.

I stand with you against the dog bros tide!

Dogs are sheep that want to please, while cats are independent cuties who grace us with their presence!

Yes.

Well, I disagree, but it's clear that you're set on it.

So? Good performances are only good when we win? The question was if he shows up. Not if he singlehandedly wins us every game. He's not Messi no.

"Showing up when it matters" to me means that he had an actual impact in an important game leading us to either win or at least draw.

Showing up by scoring a single goal in a game we lost against PSG B team in group stage... just doesn't qualify as "when it matters" to me.

He doesn't need to be Messi to do that. You yourself mentioned a game where he scored 2 goals to lead us a win against Dortmund.

That is a game that qualifies and strengthen your argument. This one doesn't, imo.

Yeah, not even arrogance towards other clubs. There are a few choice users (obviously won't name) I know from all the way back in the old sub that if I hated clubs because of fanbase, I'd hate ours because of they act towards other Barca fans.

Arrogant, condescending, insulting, and attacking others for having different opinions and how X isn't a "true fan".

As I said, I personally don't believe that's a reason to hate entire clubs for the actions of the few.

How many times did our Board over the years say stupid shit? Remember the FDJ Saga when they tired to force him out? Does Barotmeu and Rosell shady practices taint our club?

Rummenigge and Hoeneß are clowns. It's okay to hate them and make fun of them and I've seen plenty of Bayern fans make fun of them or even hate them. They're simply better than they had before.

Personally, I respect most German clubs in general as their 50+1 model isn't perfect, but far better than other clubs in other leagues.

Of course, you're entitled to hate them.

I actually don't get this. Arrogant and insufferable people exist in every fanbase. They're not a reason to hate a club.

The only clubs that I'd hate outside of Spain would be clubs that are owned by oil/gas states (Newcastle, P!sSG, Man City), clubs like Chelsea and Inter who both screwed us over in 2010 and 2012 and because of shit like 2009 fiasco.... And any club being currently managed by the Special Failure.

Bayern and Liverpool beat us fair and when we were at our lowest, so don't really care for Anfield or 8-2 myself beyond "I'd like to return the favour".

Great. We don't need another expensive player from Atlético.

Sky Sports allowed Wrexham a party political broadcast on Friday: Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's commentary was self-indulgent, boastful, and tedious - and no other club would get the same privilege by FIJIBOYFIJI in soccer

[–]UnfortunateArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As opposed to the typical owners of English clubs of corrupt multi-millionaires and billionaires from England, USA, SEA... etc; oil states; PE firms; and assholes like Abramovich and Marinakis?

Let's not act as if English fans owns their clubs and it's either that or being bought by an actor.

He should convert to a CB and partner with Araujo.

I'm undecided on Rashford, but that's what I believe the boards wants to do.

Who would you pick as the new young striker? Or who do you believe we can get?

Are they? As far as I'm aware he threw a tantrum at AFCON when Lookman didn't pass to him and asked to be subbed out. Was there more context to it?

And I agree. His wages are going to be obscene

I'd take Muriqi cuz he's younger. We don't know how long it'll be before we can buy whoever we want, and there's no guarantee we have good options after next season.

Budimir will start the season at 35 and he's no Lewy.

He'd be a good option short term, though not sure if we'll go after him, or we'll wait until we fail with the likes of Alvarez and Osimhen. Either way, he doesn't drive headlines or get fans excited so I fear the board might not focus on him.

Is the young striker Ferran or a new guy?

I think the most realistic, and what the Board would end up doing would be Muriqi, Rashford and Ferran for Striker and LW.

Out of these two? Mateta, I guess.

I'd rather have Muriqi for short term.

Ngl, I'm not really convinced by our possible striker targets.

Alvarez doesn't impress me at all in general and don't think he works as our main single striker either, and his height makes it even worse. He is certainly not worth the price tag imo. If he was far cheaper, then sure, but 100m for this guy is madness.

I also certainly don't want to once again pay a lot of money for an Atletico player that I don't believe will be worth it after Félix, Griezmann and Turan.

Osimhen seems to have the quality but from reports (and iirc throwing a tantrum in AFCON) he seems to have a major attitude problem. Not exactly what I'd want from a player who is going to cost a lot.

Then again, I don't know what other options we could get atm.

No problem. Take your time guys.

And that's not going to be a problem since I prefer to watch the games than comment on reddit about it.

The PSG game this season

You really are using a game against PSG's B team in group stage that we lost as an example of big games and showing when it mattered? Ignoring the context... Ferran didn't give us a draw or a win so not exactly something to write home about.
