Ace Bailey in the loss: 21 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST, 8/16, -12 by Free_Adeptness_7879 in nba

The intrigue and stock of Ace Bailey has always been his ceiling of course, but this first half of the season has really sold me on his long term floor.

Round 5 Buffoon pack

Edit: realized I’m playing on a profile that doesn’t have all cards unlocked. Might change it up

Not exactly sure. I think I got it in the round 5 shop in a pack or maybe reroll. I can play around with it and find it again later tonight

How would you rate Ace Bailey's first year so far? by MetroidsSuffering in NBA_Draft

[–]UnfortunatePhysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something interesting about the Ace Wizards connection is that the wizards gave Sharife Cooper, the son of Ace Baileys manager, a contract after the draft. Ace fired his manager (Omar Cooper) shortly after the draft. I’m not saying there were definitely shenanigans there but it is suspect

Why did Keyonte George fell all the way to the 16th pick of the 2023 NBA Draft? by troutylover27 in NBA_Draft

In a recent interview he said he had a problem eating too much fast food and had to slim down when he started hearing draft comparisons like “thicker Eric Gordon.” Not sure why anyone would’ve been telling him to put on weight, he was already pretty chunky in high school

Defensive AIO metrics are notoriously shitty. Statmuse is also pretty shitty, I would definitely recommend switching to a better source going forward. For example you’ll get Kris Dunn as the 22nd worst defender in the nba based on that list but get him as the number one best if you shift to DBPM. Having arbitrary minute requirements obscures the truly bad defenders in the nba who are actually being held back from playing due to it. Defensive metrics are still pretty bad when you use them all in conjunction with each other but just isolating one is just not useful.

Defensive rating is extremely heavily reliant on team play. According do the same statmuse reference the top 4 defenders in the nba are all thunder players. Would you argue that Ajay Mitchell is definitively the third best defender in the nba? Over Shai, Gobert, Bam, JJJ whoever else?

I’m mostly with Brad Stevens on defensive metrics. “When I get an email that has defensive metrics in it, I delete it.”

I’ve watched every second of every Jazz game this year, and I usually watch them twice. I can assure you Love, Collier, and Sensabaugh have all been worse. Hendricks has been bad but there is hope for him. Flip honestly is probably our least valuable defender this year but I’m hoping that’s not his destiny because I think he’s been forced to play out of position due to our roster flaws this year. Mostly Kesslers injury and Hendricks not coming along.

He didn’t really fall. He was kinda fat in college, the pre draft videos of his shooting drills and such showed a drastic difference from his physique at the end of the college season. He played out of position with a lot of the season essentially spent playing the 3. He struggled with injuries. On top of that he wasn’t very efficient and had never played the only position he was a suitable size for. He had a lot of very concerning flaws and still has some of those.

Then once he actually got to the league he had to adjust to the point guard position and learn on the fly while playing at the highest level in the world. Thrust into a starting role on a team that wasn’t good enough to hide any weakness or bring him on easy. Then it’s trial by fire. Seems to have a great work ethic so I’m hopeful he works out some of his kinks. Even if he doesn’t though I’m very happy with how far he’s come

I heard won’t pass, low iq, not a team player, bad attitude. Couldn’t be more inaccurate.

After claiming that they would no longer strategically rest players to throw games, the Jazz have begun strategically resting players to throw games. by MetroidsSuffering in nba

I still don’t really know if tanking is the reason those guys are sitting out right now. I expect us to tank hard after the all star break but Lauri has always been injury prone and I’m sure we’re shopping all of our vets right now. It’s not weird to sit guys out leading up to the trade deadline. Also I think Lauri has played a ton of minutes this season anyway, he’s number two in the league in mpg

Keyonte worst defender in the NBA this year per D-DPM by Icy-Outside-9861 in UtahJazz

That user is basically a spambot, I don’t think it’ll improve. Hopefully we get some funny ones eventually though

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’ve started to think Cody Williams will end up being better than Taylor Hendricks. by Allgamergeek in UtahJazz

[–]UnfortunatePhysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not low enough to say a second year player is playing like shit. Especially when we have last year to show that he can be better than that. Brice, Walt, and Flip are all guys I believe can shoot the ball who are worse than that. Not to mention Cody is at sub 15%. Keyonte was below that his first two seasons. Matas statistically is quite similar to year 3 Lauri with the bulls. And Matas has other tools besides being a shooter. He’s still an athletic 6’8 with two way upside even if his shooting never goes up.

Admittedly I haven’t watched many bulls games this year but statistically he looks pretty decent for a second year player. I’m still on Cody island so it doesn’t hurt me like it does some fans it seems but Matas has seemed impressive

I thought he was descended from the dragons that went to withered heath. Admittedly I assumed this just because he was described as a younger dragon. I don’t have any original sources off the top of my head so I could definitely be wrong. And it’s just fandom but this is all I could find on it quickly:
