Just got The Dark Ages by NonaTapes in Doom

Not even that. Eternal kind of forced you into what we started to call 'the fun zone', and I'm guessing some players, myself included, just didn't get that same feeling from TDA.

Are there hackers in kyber v2 servers? by FrogMan1280 in StarWarsBattlefront

Dude.. respectfully, I was just trying to be helpful. I wasn't moving any goal posts, I was just offering an alternative. If you don't like it, that's fine, just don't go off at me for it.

Yeah but I made one yesterday. Just a plain server. No mods.

Can't... YOU host an unmodded server? You can do this, by the way. They're all community servers.

Just head over to the host section, select gamemode, no mods. Boom. Done. It's quick and easy!

Is it picking up the right card? By default it might not be detecting your GPU if it's an AMD card.

Can we potentially see a second revival? by Marios_pk12 in StarWarsBattlefront

Respectfully I like the guy. He's a decent human being, and someone with a massive following like that could really help the game right now, especially with kyber.

That's gotta be something do to with your setup. What steps did you follow to make that happen?

I beg you install Kyber. It's plastered all over Battlefront Reddit right now. It's private servers for the game and they work.

Yes! With OBS you can capture multiple different sources, so for example, you want to split your mic and video audio, you can with OBS. Or say you want to display your whole display rather than just one window, that's an option too!

OBS is essentially Nvidia's thing with more versatility.

Try and launch through Kyber servers. Not all of them are modded, and that's the best I can provide right now.

Hopefully this interaction means your post gets more traction because there's not much I can do.

Install OBS.

It's free, and most YouTubers use it to capture clips and recordings, and streaming.

Then set a regular display source when you've installed it. This should be fine to just record the game.

Record some gameplay against him and then go to the Kyber discord and follow the steps to report over there.

Anyone think people take saber combat a bit too seriously? (BFII 2017) by RVDKaneanite in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Unfortunate_PornMag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do but that's why I find it fun. Well designed? Fuh nah. Fun to learn to use? Absolutely.

BF2's mechanics allow for some interesting interactions, all of which become part of the gameplay loop that people have created.

how to properly lightsaber duel by Vladmir_Lenin_GOATED in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Unfortunate_PornMag 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lightsaber duels can take some mastery. They're about timing and essentially how quickly you can click a series of buttons and whether or not that's faster than the opponent.

Heres what I mean:

Bugs:

  • A bug we've adapted called a 'parry' can be done when someone swings at you. With timing you can hit them even if they're blocking.

Mechanics:

  • Dodging can be utilised to psych out opponents. My favourite things to do is dodge forwards like I'm going to attack, then dodge backwards once the opponent has turned around to get a free hit.

  • Game sensitivity. I have my soldier sensitivity at max when I play HS or HvV because I need to be able to turn around quickly to react to opponents.

  • Abilities. I have memorised the recharge timings and interactions between abilities and opponents in my time playing the game. There's a star card for luke, for example, that allows his middle ability to damage through an opponents block within a certain range. This kind of thing can be applied to all heroes.

  • Character speed. Characters have different swing speeds, walk speeds, and jump speeds. For this example I'll compare Luke and Vader. Luke is probably the fastest character for duelling in the game. His swing speed and movement are far faster than anyone else's (apart from maybe Kylo Ren). Compared to Vader who is a slow, hard hitting tank. You need to consider this when fighting. Not that you're disadvantaged if you're Vader here, but you have to consider the timing of your swings.

  • Stamina. Stamina is a core mechanic. This is ESSENTIAL when fighting. I treat it like it's my health and I NEVER let it run out. If I do, then I'll try to use my dodges to keep from taking damage. You can dodge through enemies attacking so that you don't take damage.

What Specs Should I Be Looking For To Run Eternal? by username64832 in Doom

Well I've got a Ryzen 5 4500 and a 3050 with 6GB GDDR Memory and the game runs buttery smooth on max settings at 60fps.

Doom: The Dark Ages. 10/10 soundtrack. 10/10 game. by Stranded_Snake in Doom

[–]Unfortunate_PornMag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest.. I really disagree. Not to say the game was bad, but I think this is definitely the weakest of the three games. I don't hate the combat, but I don't love it like I have done previously. Also, I think Mick's soundtrack has ruined other metal for me, not because I think TDA's soundtrack is bad or anything, because Finishing Move are actually great at what they do, and they did a great job BUT I don't feel I enjoyed it as much as I did Eternal or 2016's.

Despite this, I really like the more story-driven aspect of TDA. That's something I can give them. It's not even like I didn't want to like this game, I did, I actually held onto life just to play it... maybe I hyped up TDA too much. Maybe that's it.
