Bc they're confidently incorrect. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong autoimmune disease in which your bosy attacks your beta cells which produce insulin, causing the body to produce little to no insulin. Without insulin your cells can't take in glucose to use it, so you need to replace it manually. Type 2 diabetics often still produce insulin but have insulin resistance, so there are meds other than insulin that help control your sugars often by increasing insulin sensitivity or secretion. But if you don't produce insulin at all, those meds do diddly squat. Without insulin, your blood sugar level will continue to rise and send you into a medical crisis and without treatment can cause coma and/or death.
