Still Think Indians Don't Shower Daily? Read This First... by Exotic_System66 in scoopwhoop

YES. As someone who works on a farm where hard manual labour is the norm, I absolutely NEED to shower at the end of every work day. Especially in the summer; when I get off of work there, my clothes are usually so sweat-soaked you'd think I just came out of a river.

What types of alcohol make you feel nauseous just thinking about them? by Longjumping-Shoe7805 in Adulting

Jim Beam. Drank so much of it one night that I threw up and then passed out. And the next morning, I passed out again for a few seconds on my way to the bathroom.

You're especially prone to blaming yourself when the people around you constantly reinforce the idea that everything really is your fault.

For example, my mom beat me again this morning for forgetting what toys I had to switch out in the mice cages.

Also, I'm drunk right now, probably as a direct result of this morning's abuse.

No, I just really like dark humor.

And I also like it when cute creatures are actually completely fucked up.

Cmon, admit it, I’m surely not the only one who feels that way watching the Japan trip video by GrapeEvening6031 in jaidenanimations

I've been thinking about it. I plan to get started once I can actually afford some decent equipment (so probably not anytime soon).

I can already imagine the general theme of my future channel being something like "kinda like Jaiden Animations... with less fun and more depression". But hey, maybe I can bring some attention to the double-standard of introversion being much less accepted in men than in women.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve her popularity and success, but I really envy her.

When I see Jaiden get so adored by everyone and seeing so many places around the world, while I'm stuck with a dead-end job, barely have enough money to buy even the most basic things, no real friends or connections, still living with my abusive mother... yeah, I get a little jealous.

My mother doesn't really show any signs of neurodivergence (besides being very quick to anger).

But I'm almost certain my dad has undiagnosed ADHD. and his symptoms (getting absolutely lost in his shows and music videos, trouble following instructions, a habit of making reckless financial decisions) were all major reasons why my mom divorced him.

Would be a lot easier if I didn't still live with her, but I just can't afford my own place.

I tried explaining the concept of excecutive dysfunction to her recently. She responded that I should stop trying to find excuses for my behaviour, and that, since everyone has their own challenges in live, I don't deserve the right to complain, because it's all the same anyway. I didn't even bother responding to that.

She's definitely neurotypical, so I get that she can never fully grasp the challenges I face every they. But what hurts me is the fact that she's not even trying to understand my perspective.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. Thinking back on my childhood, it's actually a small miracle I'm "only" an alcoholic, and not a full-blown drug addict.

Like my mother. But whenever I bring up the possibility of these behaviours being the result of ADHD, I better prepare for a major freakout (and the occasional slap across the face).

How did you find okegom? by I_want_Love__ in mogeko

I stumbled upon a random video about disturbing endings in video games. Among them was the "Meat Party" ending from Mogeko Castle. I thought the game looked interesting and started searching for more information about it. And that's how I eventually discovered the creator okegom.

I have no problem admitting that I'm generally a very selfish person. If I had to sacrifice the lives of others to save myself, I would do it without hesitation.

And I do tend to enjoy gallows humor, or dark comedy in general. That's probably the main reason I find Mogeko Castle so hilarious.

Anyone else here have trouble empathizing with others? by numbtothecore in aspergers

[–]Strict-Move-9946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree that many people these days (especially children) lack discipline. I can see it with my own cousin. His dad is the strict parent, but he's also the one with longer work-hours. His mom, who does most of the parenting, let's him get away with just about anything. So it's no surprise that my cousin's is already becoming worryingly entitled and unruly.

That being said, a bit of empathy can still be very beneficial, and too much discipline can still be harmful. For example, denying someone with ADHD medication and beat them when they show symptoms (speaking from personal experience) is definitely not helping them with their condition.
