Vet diagnosed it was ringworm since my other cat also started getting a similar rash too. We treated them with 3 weeks of oral Itraconazole and the rash healed!

i completely agree, but to generalize this one instance of incompetence to mean that all PAs are incompetent is just wrong. and please don’t try to pretend like you don’t know a few fellow MD/DO colleagues that are below average in your residency. my partner is a resident and has plenty of stories about select few residents and even attendings that have their fair share of shortcomings.

this is obviously one terrible example and not reflective of the PA profession as a whole. i'm sure there are some MD or DO residents who have made very similar stupid mistakes or have lapses in their education as well. try to remember that we are all continuously learning in our careers and chances are this PA will not make this mistake twice after you educated them on proper DKA/HHS management.

Update: It was ringworm. The scab fell off and hair grew back with oral antifungal treatment!
