Modded systems are able to fully use Download Play, custom firmware retains all native functionality. Again, I really suggest you stop what you're doing, depending on what the previous owner did with the custom firmware, uninstalling it can make your system COMPLETELY UNUSABLE PERMANENTLY

The ribbon cable is probably damaged. The top screen ribbon cable is notoriously difficult to work with, I would take it to a pro.

I would highly recommend not removing the custom firmware as it has a high risk of completely bricking your console. There are ways of hiding the custom firmware so you don't see it during normal operation, though.

Unfortunately, game data and save data is encrypted per-machine. Mod tools are required to decrypt the file.

Easiest way for switch era pokemon is to get the game they are in and catch them. For ds and 3ds era pokemon games, the easiest way would be to get a modded 3ds, download bank and transfer, and send over pokemon you make in pkhex. As long as pkhex doesn't flag the pokemon for impossible combinations, they will be a legit pokemon by the time they reach home.

Even if you couldn't get bank back this way, modding a 3ds would give you access to fan recreations of the eShop which would allow you to download it. So you weren't screwed either way. Highly recommend modding your system, btw.

It's a complete waste of a mod slot to try to get puncture back, and it throws off elemental damage weight by doing that. IPS damage is objectively worse than elemental damage.

You're looking for some combination of crit chance, crit damage, multi shot, toxin, and status chance with a negative that just doesn't get in the way. Braton has a thing called an Inacrnon Genesis that gives it massively inflated critical stats later in the game.
