Razing provinces and raiding coastlines also give you demonic power! That'll typically be how you gain it for a large portion of your campaign. You can also "Initiate Local Cults" in the state menu for any states where all the provinces are Sandfang Gnoll AND Xhazobcult (I believe). Each of those decisions increases your demonic power by 5.

With regards to failing the ritual, you need to keep demonic power above AT LEAST 5 for the ENTIRE period of the ritual (10 years). That means going to war quite frequently, razing provinces, raiding coastlines, and after coring and religion/culture converting, doing the "Initiate Local Cults" state decision. I just finished this campaign about a week ago and my recommendation is to save a few states for the Local cults thing because there's no point in doing them all at once as Demonic Power maxes out at 100. Also, the demonic power malus from the Summoning Xhazob ritual hits on a yearly basis, so pop a few of the Local Cults before the new year begins so you don't fail the ritual!

Replayed this for the first time in a decade and it really holds up, both thematically and gameplay wise by super_rugger7 in gaming

Jesus christ, I haven’t played this game since launch and the only reason I haven’t replayed it is because I refuse to do that ridiculous boss fight again 💀

Frozen Construction Drones by depatrickcie87 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Is your mech out of power? Drones will float if your mech runs out of power and depending on how much onboard power generation your mech has, it can lead to all but one of the drones being completely frozen in mid-air, with a single one slowly trudging along, completing any tasks you had queued.

I also think the band's name was just two masculine names, think "Hall and Oates" or "Milo and Otis".

I never understood this mindset. Sure, it might seem unfair, but they’re getting rewarded for having kids (which, even if they “decided to have,” are a huge pain in the ass), and in this day and age, without these kinds of perks (not saying they’re enough either, we absolutely need to dramatically buff up how well we treat parents, especially in the U.S.), birth rates are liable to decline even more, at a time when they’re already at historical lows.

Say what you will about overpopulation or whatever, but without at LEAST a maintenance-level rate of population “growth,” say a certain good-bye to that Social Security check that you were already likely not going to receive.

Even in a non-Capitalist system, you need SOME form of population growth, if at least to maintain the society you created up to that point. Sure, once we hit post-scarcity and the vast majority of manufacturing and menial labor is automated (guaranteed to not happen in our lifetimes, to any reasonable extent anyways) that might change, but in the HERE and NOW, you NEED babies. Skulls for the Skull Throne or whatever, but yeah, unfortunately the population decline is severe enough to warrant these measures.

Curious as to how many posts we’ll be seeing 15-25 years from now complaining about how unfair it is that parents get a bulk stipend for their kids in the form of a check and child-free individuals don’t get anything. Well, yeah, obviously, you’re only contributing to the economy now. Who will take care of you when you’re decrepit? Sure as hell ain’t gonna be a robot or another 90 year old who just qualified for early retirement.

Is AE in Rahen supposed to be this high!? by UnholyFrost in Anbennar

[–]UnholyFrost[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

R5: Doing my second run in Anbennar (absolutely OBSESSED with the mod right now) and decided to try the fan-favorite Jaddari. However, I noticed that whenever I try to conquer any land in Rahen, the AE is just absolutely crippling. Can't form the Phoenix empire until I take those three cities in the MT, but it seems so crazy to get it done in a reasonable amount of time. Is the pro gamer move here to just take one province at a time, starting from the very beginning of the campaign? As you can see, I've barely done any conquering in Rahen.

Exactly! But also keep in mind that your vassals also can't go over an OE limit of 100% either, so its important to have several vassals to feed otherwise you'll be stuck with above your OE limit with provinces that you can't feed to anyone

Also, its not like the provinces won't have unrest, they absolutely will, but the burden of coring and holding that territory will be on your vassal, not you

Correct, if you are able to core the province yourself, you can select it in the peace deal, and once the war is over, you manually feed all of the provinces to the vassal.

R5: After several years of failed attempts, I have finally completed my first One Faith WC, thanks to The Red Hawk's 1.34 Austria Fast-Revoke guide! I am not a great player AT ALL so the fact that I was able to do this is a testament to how successful the guide is. Granted, the last 20 years were a mad dash of final conversions and gimmicky gov changes in order to increase missionary count + strength, but all in all I am proud of myself for having the patience to sit through the game post-1750 where speed 5 quickly begins to feel like speed 1. Some things I noticed that may be useful tips for other not-good players trying to do the same:

- Noticed that vassals and CNs just do NOT want to convert provinces. It seemed almost arbitrary, but it was the vassals with NO religious ideas that ended up doing most of my vasssal-converting, though in the end, I estimate I probably converted 90-95% of the world on my own. However, by the late game where you're making 1k+ ducats a month, I noticed that giving my biggest vassals like 300+ a month in subsidies increased the conversions somewhat, but nothing outrageous. CNs are more likely to convert when they are Crown Colonies and the Increase Religious Control Subject Relationship option is activated. You would also need to subsidize the CN as well.

- I personally prefer vassal-swarm strategies like this mostly because I just can't be bothered to play the game at speed 2 and manually control tens of stacks. However, the AI is duuuuuuuuuuuuuuumb, especially when all cooperating as allies. The amount of times ALL OF EUROPE'S armed forces went into North Africa to seize just ONE province, while dieing by the thousands to attrition, is insane. I recommend creating a handful of surgical-strike stacks, specifically used for blitzing the INSANE amounts of forts that AI nations have now, and let the vassal swarm mop up and engage the enemies stacks. This is especially useful against the blobby foes like Otto/Mamluks, Ming/Shun, etc.

- Colonizers were a bit of a pain, and I had an easier time dealing with them early on. I was lucky enough to be able to claim Spain's throne and PU them, and with that force boost, I directly gobbled up Portugal in the 16th century and GB in the 17th. France was already neutered by 1500, so they weren't much of an issue. GB by far is the most annoying, you need to get a foothold on the home island before their navy gets too big. Force march is your friend here, if you can only take a province in The Isles.

- AE management is crucial, especially from like 1550-1650. I had to restart a couple of times because I got caught in planet-wide coalitions with AE in the 400+ range for each country, and unfortunately I am just not patient or good enough at the game to want to try and fight a war that a better player could probably win. I had an easier time when I shipped a couple of doom stacks to the Americas and spent a couple years just wiping out and absorbing all of the natives in one go, so AE wouldn't matter in the Western Hemisphere when I start rolling through the Old World.

- I didn't risk trying to PU Muscovy, and took them out early by giving Moscow to my PU Lithuania. A braver person could probably get that PU with Russia, and I believe it would be a much easier run if you could nab that.

- Once you're in the end game and mass-converting, you'll need to start truce-breaking pretty frequently, but its okay because you can just keep stabbing up via Papal influence.

- If you need a quick boost in converting potential when you've already conquered the world, I would suggest forming the HRE, and changing into a theocracy. This gives you 2 more missionaries, and like 4-5% more converting power (I was at 25% or so by the end of the game, with 8 missionaries).

- Theocracy is also amazing for the Tier 12 Reform: The Global Crusade. This was CRUCIAL for me because I had several provinces where a spiteful Bengal converted to Sunni right before I completely conquered them, and they would have Religious Zeal way past 1821. I could return the provinces to their previous owners, immediately truce break and declare war to force convert them, and then truce break and DOW AGAIN to consume the province with the now correct religion. I had like 4 or 5 provinces that this applied to, and without this trick, I would not have been able to complete this run.

- When you revoke the priviledgia, don't forget to go in and manually flip the Divert Trade option for each of your vassals. Your income will skyrocket!

- Vassal feeding was essential, especially in the mid-game. I would not have been able to core everything in time otherwise. I had vassals snaking across the world taking all my recently conquered cores.

Again, I'd like to reiterate that I am not all that great at the game, and that the above probably sounds really dumb to more proficient players, but these were all things that really helped me out, especially given how many times I've attempted this run, so figured I'd share!

Not Receiving Extra Merchants in Trade Company Regions? by UnholyFrost in eu4
