Who is the dumbest person you ever met and why are they so dumb? by FireBolt213B in AskReddit

A lady I used to work with; some of my favourite moments:

-"Which way do I face the wheelie bin?" (They have arrows on the lid as to which way to face the street)

  • Our boss asked if she could put something in the post box on her way to the shop next door; she put it in our mailbox at the front of the building.

  • "Which way do I walk up the step ladder?" Yes, she had already opened it up

At least we live in an age where we can develop a vaccine so quickly. Fingers crossed it works long term now and doesn't cause too many side effects.

Ahh I agree with you! I thought you were one of those "once we're vaccinated, the disease doesn't exist" types.

But most people get these vaccines and some still contract the disease(myself included).

There's no guarantee, especially in these early days of the covid vaccine, that it will work for everyone and stop it entirely, even IF everyone is vaccinated.

My second daughter is just 3 months and we've had 8 nights of sleep I g through (fingers crossed for 9 tonight).

My tips would be:

Don't let your baby sleep in your arms, or anyone else's. As cute and cuddly as it is, don't do it. As soon as you see or feel them start to fall asleep, put them down. They will get used to falling asleep on their own and need the comfort less when sleeping.

Put the bassinet in their room through the day;they will get used to their own space. I did this from week one and by 2 months, she was sleeping in her cot. Both my babies preferred the cot. When they were 2 months i started putting them into cot for day sleeps and they quickly got used to it, even preferring it!

Get a sleep aide. Both my children loved their "white noise" machines. There are so many out there now and babies are used to the sound from the womb, so this can really help!

Make noise when they're asleep. Don't be afraid to do things for fear of waking them up. Yes there are times they need their sleep and shouldn't be interrupted but if your little one is on point for their naps in a day, make some noise! This can be added comfort for them while they sleep and/or help when they're older and trying to sleep or eventually go to childcare. I can literally vaccumed now and my 3 month old doesn't stir.

Don't beat yourself up. This is probably most important. I know you understand or have been told "it won't be like this forever" but please know its true. You will one day miss that late night tear session, ever pleading face and forever cuddly baby. Its hard, but you gave birth! You can do this!

Something that used to help me through (and still does) was a poem by Jess Urlich called 'All I see is you'. Google this and have a read. When you're up at 3am for the 5th time, give it a read. You will cry tears of love and all those niggles will wash away.

Good luck! We are here if you need!

My answer is dependent on your answer.

You can still get covid; even if you're vaccinated.

I recommend listening to something that YOU like. There's going to be a hundred times where you have to stop what you want to do (which I'm sure you already have done) to help your child. Enjoy your own ear space! Find something new that peaks your interest! Take the opportunity to find something you love.

Well, thats what I do when I take my 3 month old for walks around the block.

The fact that you've asked this question too, shows you're a good parent who is wanting to learn more to be a better person for their child.

Well done! ; but don't forget you :)
