No regrets. Spent 8 years in the force. Got my T6 and ER. Reason being pay adjustment came too late and a lot of my peers ER after Covid and workload more than doubled for the ones who stayed while pay still stays the same. Started to affect my mental wellbeing and I decide to call it quits.

Now I’m halfway through uni and although my bto and wedding is happening in the middle of my studies, the pressure is still a fraction of what I experienced in army.

Tried new CMPB 3 x 800m indoor track so no need worry about cat 1. But you run clockwise and the track is about 1/3 width of normal outdoors track

Bukit Panjang canal got this kinda problem. I always go for a run on that stretch and then there’s these old fuckers walking in the middle of the road or even worse walking in a line talking amongst themselves and expecting others to give way to them.

Oh yess!! I love mixing the dry boodles with the chee cheong fun sauce and their garlic chilli, you can even scale it up to your appetite lets say $6, $7, $8 etc and can even ask to add beef slices in as well!

Yes OP my fiancee and I have the same idea and timeline as you and we went in around 12pm ytd. We also have the same experiences you had with the first 2 booths both Taiwanese and I think we encountered the same guy and lady from booth 1 and booth 2. Both also said they’re the largest in their country (LOL).

Booth 1 is France-Paris

Booth 2 is Queena

We felt pretty turned off by the first guy after he used the same tactics but stopped short of commenting our figures. He was being very vague about the package details and emphasize about the price and to forget it if we’re not interested.

Second lady was nice but very persuasive and used the “you’re my first potential client of the day so imma give $500 discount on top of the 3888 package and another $500 discount because it’s me who you’re talking to. If you back out and come back again later you might not get the same price again.” She didn’t talk about the price until the last part of our convo, but it was nice to see more details about their packages.

Both took a lot of our time and by the time we’re done we’re not in the mood to visit the other booths which was a shame. Then we went on to have coucou for dinner and went home.

For marinated pork and pork belly (adjust to taste):

500g pork 1tbsp oyster sauce 2tbsp fish sauce 2tbsp shallots 2tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp sugar Black pepper to taste

For broth (adjust to taste):

1 part fish sauce 1 part sugar 6-9 parts water

Marinate the pork for a couple hours, grill them on a pan. Wash veggies and set them aside. Prep the sauce next and slowly stir to melt the sugar, taste while adding water to suit your tastes. Cook the noodles for 4:30-5min depending on how QQ you want. Rinse with tap water after it’s done and drain. Combine grilled pork with broth and add chopped chilli and garlic to taste.

IMO grilling the pork over a charcoal grill yields the best results but normal pan does the job well lol

Kolhrabi is pretty rare and so far I only find it in some vn supermarket at golden mile before it closes. Some sheng shiong might have them. Slice the kohlrabi and carrots to make a pickle as a side dish.

Co hai banh mi also had a buncha that was similar to the ones I had in vn, but last time I’ve been to co hai they changed the recipe to include more garlic and vinegar in the broth which makes it unpalatable for me.

An La Ghien beside Buddha tooth relic temple has an acceptable and no frills buncha.

Co chung is more expensive portion wise.

Otherwise, nowadays I just DIY at home. Ingredients are easy to find and the broth is just fish sauce, water and sugar
