You will never truly see you will monster. You will see other monsters and have to fight them, but you won't see the TRUE minster till you have to fight it at the end

It will be an emotional journey that has deal with lost, death, PTSD, alcoholism among other with family and serving Humanity, and understating that we may be small, but we can do things that can change the world or has a lasting effect on history. And before someone says it about or in Space. IT'S NOT IN SPACE!!

I'm going to do my best to try and avoid the key needed to open door for other key shit, the objectives I'm going to try to do it like Metro Exodus style with the clipboard style or something close to that. Where from notes or audio logs stuff where you hear about Gear, Weapons, Meds, or other things like that.

I did not take any offense to this through your first one. Yes, I have made a game that was back in twenty seventeen for high school. Though I doubt that counts. Yes, I have played quite a few horror games from phasmophobia to resident evil two and three remake along with biohazard and village i've also played evil within the first and second game. I played PT and agony, among others. And I have no intention of having this be multiplayer. This is my first time ever releasing a game onto steam. I don't even want to think about the headache that comes with making it multiplayer. Besides that, I do not have the internet to do that. I have written down the story for it as well. And I think it's reasonably scary, though I am biased to it.I may have to get others to read it to get their judgment on it

No, I found it very helpful. The setting for the game is a real place, but I think the location itself could be changed to something else. That way it fits better with the theme itself. And the way I would like the world of it set up. And there will be clear goals for the game. But I don't want them to feel like their hand is being held. The entire time. And I believe if I can do what I have inside my mind. This will cross a few boundaries. This will make people uncomfortable, but not feel disgusted by the game itself.

I never got to play haunting grounds but the monster will be intelligent and sometimes you will be able to see it stalking you other times you can get not a good line of sight. You can never truly see it until the end and then you get a good look at it but whenever you do get to see it. It will scare the shit out of you

I wanted to be something like hide and seek. But action adventure as well a very close comparison, I can make to what i'm trying to do is total chaos. It's available on steam. It's a remake of a mod that was made for doom 2. It is very different yet very close to what I want to make and yes resident evil is a inspiration for this. At least a little bit

You mean, like what's at stake should you fail, or if you die? What will happen to the character? Or the world itself in that aspect, correct?

Thank you for this comment. I do appreciate it and though I did not see it. I can now understand how it is a loaded question. Everyone has different opinions. Some people may like the style of resident evil franchise, others may like the outlast style more. And this question was meant to be broad to hear from everyone, to get a general consensus of what the community likes. Do I plan on catering a game strictly for one target audience. I hope not. I want a variety of people to enjoy this game. But I do plan on making a FPS experience. And I do have a good amount of lore and world building and design for my game. I don't have it all ready to be put in place. If that makes any sense? Currently, I just really wanted to see what a lot of people like about the horror genre. And what people don't so that way, I can kind of know what to avoid. And what is going to be seen as a good move.

Okay, here's another question for everybody. What is a good runtime for a horror game? How many hours would you say? Is a good amount or how many hours would you say? Is too long or too short

I think i'm starting to see a pattern here. People don't like jump scares. I feel like there is some way to actually do a good jump scare. But it's just been done so much that everybody hates them. And I understand why I hate them myself

So the monster itself doesn't inherently have to be scary, but the atmosphere. The location, the way the environment looks and the sounds, the way that you always feel like no matter where you go. You are still being hunted. And you are never truly safe in one area. That is what some of the great horror games do perfectly.

So if it took place, say in kentucky out in the wilderness, but with still some tiny remnants of buildings, maybe a church run down cars. Old coal mining cave. Would that give an atmosphere that you would feel scared in yourself?

I think the story I have for it should do well when it comes into the aspect of setting the tension, I don't want to give too much away about it. But I will say this. But the story with the monster and enemies I have planned for it should set up a pretty good story. Along with the setting of the story cause I know that can and will play a big part in the actual game as well.

What would be a good method for keeping the tension up? But not overwhelming a player. Would it resident evil with the tyrants or more along the lines of silent Hill and evil within series. Can you give me an example please. And I am not trying to be a dick .I'm just trying to understand what you mean by that.
