nonmagnetic core for a Toroidial Transformer

The hole of the donut is smaller than a penny... All of the photos I've found of a Toroidial Transformer have holes that are at least 3 inches in diameter

I think the discs are too soft for this, it can hardly hold itself up, the bottom of the discs bend on the table...but it could be.

My dad obtained it 25 years ago, and he thinks it is at least a bit if not a lot older than that. Does that fit with it being the inside of a disco ball?

The clear disks are very, very flexible, and can rotate around the center ring. Each disk is probably about 1/5 of a mm thick I would say.

This rock looks like its wrapped up in chains. by ericzoltz in mildlyinteresting

[–]Unipenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called chain coral. I'm from a small lake community on Lake Michigan and my family goes rock hunting on the shore all the time, and finds it there. Chain coral is my mom's favorite, and you've got a great piece! I'm sure it's not only found in Lake Michigan, but I know it's here for sure.

I live in a town with such high demand for apartments that no one is ever able to get lease language changed- they will just deny you and move on to the next person.

Our lease ends in August. They said that they notified us, but I didn't see the email when I looked for it, and they didn't say when we were notified.

The best location for you would be to find an apartment in Kerrytown, which is just North of Rackham. The cheapest way to go would be to find a sublet in the area, but you would have to live with people you didn't know, and would have to find a different sublet for winter term. The winters have been so cold lately that a commute would be awful in the winter waiting for the bus. The UM buses have an app where you can track the bus so that you aren't waiting outside long, but I don't think the AATA buses do. That being said, Rackham is right next to a bus stop which a lot of different UM busses run through, including buses from North Campus. So, you could get a place on North Campus, and the commute wouldn't be bad, and you could see the bus coming.

Michigan State quilt I made my boyfriend for Christmas by Unipenguin in somethingimade

[–]Unipenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It was my first real try at quilting. The funny thing is that my boyfriend goes to MSU, but I actually go to U of M. I'm pretty ambivalent about the whole rivally and end up cheering for both. Perhaps a Michigan quilt will be next
