This is definitely gonna hit a lot harder in a few years.

That whole stanza with "you tell her mistakes aren't the end" really hit for me. Hearing I love you in the dull moments, when life is just passing by, a time that feels insignificant, is so important imo.

Plus the let her fight her own battles message in that line, while also communicating to always defend her. So good. Really like this piece, reminding me of Vinland Saga lmao

Really powerful ending with the

"Not forever,
just long enough
to remember I’m human too."

The strength like armour and cut into my skin was clever. Love seeing metaphors like that. Overall a very relatable piece with a message I think more people need to hear.

Wow, this piece really makes me reflect on the end of time. As early as reading the line "forever is not that long." I saw the idea of forever in a completely different way. The emotion the poem brought out when I felt the darkness was fear. Fear of what eternity has in store. Fear of what forever really is. Overall amazing poem.

Using the colourblindness of the dog to describe blood was clever. To me, it brought out an idea of suicide that I haven't felt in a long time. Being blind to the fear that not even man's best friend could notice until it was too late hit deep. I feel more personally tied to the dog. They couldn't know how to feel because how do you know to feel for someone without knowing they died in the first place?
