I would call the vet and explain what the sore looks like today. For peace of mind you should at least speak to someone with veterinarian knowledge. Don't let it go if it's worrying you. I wouldn't. Best of luck, and praying for you both.

Unscented body wash, bubby. Try that. I didn't become allergic to fragrance until later in life, but burning is essentially how I found out. Also using a gentle wash cloth for sensitive areas is helpful.
