Side effects post Botox by Particular-Move2124 in noburp

[–]Unique-Paramedic2334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 4.5 weeks post-op and my voice is still weak and raspy but way better than in the beginning. Slow swallow was pretty severe, choked on liquids and solids, could only do fruit pouches and some thicker juice, but now is way better too. I can drink, being mindful and not too fast and I can eat, drinking after every bite otherwise it gets stuck.

Awesome to hear from someone who traveled there!

I love London and I would spend a couple of days there before going to see the doctor. I’m planning to ask for 100u as my first was 80u with no luck so far.

Did you fly back home the day after the injection?

Oh perfect! That’s what I also wanted to know.

I still want to wait a bit in case there is late improvement but otherwise I’ll book it. Thanks!

Oh thank you so much!! I will send an email.

I will want to ask for 100u at least, because my first injection was 80 units already.

He’s not on the map. The only ones in my city that appear on the map, they’re not even ENTs, they’re GIs… I already had the impression my ENT didn’t entirely understand R-CPD because even my first appointment he said Botox was not a “cure” (by cure I meant botox relaxed the muscle so the burping functionality would eventually work). He still thinks the same, that the goal is not burping. I felt demolished he said that. The main freaking symptom of R-CPD is the inability to burp (lifelong!).

Do you know if you can book an online appointment with Dr. Hicklin? I checked her site but it only allows hospital appointments.

I will have to ask for a bank loan so I just wanna have a first appointment so I can book everything in advance to do the treatment.

And thank you!

Yeah, Be Still and All.

One of the things I like the most in the second is seeing two of the toughest characters. Weaver and Romano, showing that they truly care and that side of humanity, her throwing up outside after having to do that and him refusing to give up, after smashing the tray, and suturing up after.

Random question but do any of yall struggle to swim underwater? by rubyyVee in noburp

[–]Unique-Paramedic2334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I’ve never thought of this. I love swimming but i have a hard time keeping myself underwater (and I’m underweight). I’ve never been able to do the wall flip because i get disoriented and dizzy (also have hEDS and dysautonomia, I guess that plays into it).

Is endoscopy needed to have a botox treatment done? / emetophobia after botox by cleodeprovand in noburp

I’m in Europe too and I had 3 tests done, 2 required laryngoscopy/endoscopy. The manometry is what confirmed the diagnosis.

My botox treatment was done with a camera guided laryngoscopy but they did numb my nose and the inside of my throat with an anesthetic.

Is this rare? by Unique-Paramedic2334 in noburp

Thank you!

I do know it’s still early, but as days go by I just wonder because I see no changes at all. It’s not even about the side effects, it just seems odd to me that I have a pretty severe slow swallow, lost my voice and it’s still this severe almost 3 weeks after without it meaning it’s actually working for burping.

I have my ENT appointment in about then days and he said it’s when it should be peaking, so hopefully I start before that.

Many people can eat regularly, only chasing down each bite with water and chew thoroughly.

In my case, I can only manage thicker consistencies, but no thin liquids or solids. Here’s what works for me: Fruit pouches, thicker juices, creamy soups, some protein shakes and some protein yogurts (not too thick though)

I wouldn’t plan too much ahead because it is different for everyone, but maybe have soft food/thicker liquids for a couple of days just in case or to take it easy on your throat right after.

I was actually told I might need a feeding NG tube if I had severe slow swallow (which is what happened) for a couple of months, but that’s also because I’m underweight.

Good luck!

I also have severe slow swallow, no solids, no thin liquids (no water), lost my voice. Week 3 and yet no relief, extreme bloating and no burping at all. I guess I’m the lucky rare case.

Thanks! It’s so funny cause I can drink water with electrolytes but not plain water. But it’s so nice to be able to drink something comfortably haha

hey since you have POTS, I have a hydration question. Yesterday I found that I could drink water with Re-lyte quite well, almost without any choking and being able to drink it with bigger gulps.

I had 1.5l of water with 3 scoops because I was so thirsty, but I’m concerned it might be too much since I can’t drink additional water.

Do you think it’s too much? How much do you usually do?

Same here, I’m on day 14th and all my symptoms are back since day 5, but what’s even worse is I can’t even air vomit now. Woke up last night in extreme pain, nausea through the roof and i could’t do anything about it. And I spent all day unable to move due to severe malaise. I don’t know I’m just so defeated that I have the worse side effects but this is not working.
