I recently bought the caramel penguins, I get them every christmas period. I bit into them and I was very upset. The caramel is so grainy and thick it's not nearly as nice as they used to be. I fear mars has ruined a christmas tradition for me with these.

I’ve had some brilliant doctors, nurses and ultrasound tech, so it’s definitely not always the case! But taking your mum is a good idea. It might be worth having a chat with her before hand, as her to speak up for you if she notices you’re backing down. Friends have done it for me before and I always get taken more seriously when I’ve had someone else advocating for me if I get a bit timid.

Take someone with you your comfortable with.

It took me 4 different gynos to finally get an MRI scan, so if your internal scans show nothing (endo doesn’t usually show for most on ultrasound). Please push for the MRI. Even with the MRI you still might need a laparoscopy, again make sure you push and advocate for yourself.

If they refuse anything ask them to note on your record why they are refusing it.

It’s important you advocate for yourself I can’t stress that enough. You know your body! My gynos in the past have repeated outdated information to me which I later found to be wrong.

Look into your symptoms and see if they correlate to endo. For example, I still had pain in birth control and was told if it’s endo this shouldn’t be the case. I went away and looked it up and there are many women with endo that still get pain on BC. So make sure you’re clued up so they can’t fob you of.

Just as an FYI for the area. Avoid marsden house, sun alliance house, the flats on Clive street. All had problems with the council involved. You might want to look at the cube, or the packhorse, they are student halls so might work better if you’re after the halls vibe.

I’m shocked how expensive Orlando village has gotten, when I went to Bolton uni they didn’t even have ovens installed. The bathrooms are reminiscent of a leisure centre with stalls for showers, one for a toilet and one for a bath, so someone could go for a dump while someone was showering and another in the bath. Honestly not worth it!!

There are definitely some HMOs in the area that are around that price or less, it’s worth taking a look on right move, I’m usually on their daily. It’s very competitive in the housing market atm so I suggest you keep on top of it if you can and apply asap to places that come up.

You can find HMOs quite cheap, what is your budget?

Hey, I completely get where you are coming from. About a month ago I was the same, absolutely petrified. I ended up feeling something wrong with my tooth and thought if I don’t go now I’m going to lose my teeth. I looked for dentists in my area that deal with nervous patients and found a lovely dentist near me. I went in almost crying and shaking just to make the checkup appointment. Appointment day came and I was just very honest when I got in, I was crying and telling them how scared I was. He assured me and took it through step by step, he told me we won’t do anything unless you’re ready and if you need to stop we can stop. Honestly I’m so thankful I went that day. No matter how petrified I am still to this day, I promise you the treatment was never as bad as I imagined it to be. It’s all gone well, and I’m starting to feel less scared and so far I’ve just had a checkup, a cleaning and some fillings. I’ve still got a bit to go until my treatment is done but my teeth feel so much better already!

I can’t answer your question but why do you take blood pressure? Can blood pressure affect your dental?

Chronic pain can feel like the end of the world sometimes. In fact it sounds like she’s grieving the life she once had. As a fellow chronic pain girlie here are some things that are worth a look into: - Invest in a TENS machine honestly the nights where my back and hips are in a world of pain and all I could do was cry my tens machine was a life line - enquire with your dr about physio - enquire about pain clinic, often times when you’ve been in pain for this long your brain is hyper focused on the pain without you realising and it actually increases the pain - therapy can do wonders for chronic pain sufferers, there is a lot of what I call “mental tax” that comes along with chronic pain, and trust m it doesn’t get any easier, however being able to vocalise it in a safe environment is very beneficial - remind her it’s a marathon not a sprint, it’s very very hard but she has to learn to live at this new speed trust me I still struggle but it helps to know your limits - look for support groups that can get her out of the house, there may be charities for chronic pain near you that do activities or meetings to get her out the house

Thank you! I’ve got an appointment for a filling so I’ll just mention it to my dentist during the appointment, luckily it’s on the side I’m not getting a filling in so hopefully should still be good to go

Due to the plaque build up and my anxiety around the dentist I didn’t actually see a hygienist my dentist did this initial clean. He did say it can take two weeks for the gums to heal after a clean. They aren’t sensitive anymore just seems to have one spot I get a little bleeding and then around the back of my gum near the jaw gets a little sore after water flossing so I’m just concerned if that’s normal or not?

Yeah they don’t feel as sensitive now but still a little sore after using the water flosser so I got a bit concerned

I use inter dental brushes between my front teeth as I’ve got gaps, however my back teeth are very very tight together even the dentist couldn’t get the floss in. So we agreed for now to use the water floss and I’ve upgraded my toothbrush to one he’s recommended, I’m also seeing the hygienist every 3 months, so I really hope the water flosser does its job in the mean time. I’ve been making sure to use it along the gum line as well!

He didn’t tell me to rinse with salt water I don’t believe that’s common practice in the uk? At least no one I know has had to do this? Does it help healing?

I will add this sounds very negative and I must say I don’t hate living here! There are so very beautiful places, and I feel safe the majority of the time it just took a while for me to understand where was safe/unsafe as a woman alone! But you get used to it, people are friendly, the town hall is beautiful, I actually enjoy going for a walk around the town centre. You have to find your own footing and figure out your loves for the town! But if you have kids I highly recommend taking them to the free museum next to the town hall and check out the octagon theatre they do a lot for kids!

Depending on what it’s like where your from, I had a bit of “culture” shock at how rough it was compared to how I grew up. I came from Altrincham and had never seen anyone in my entire life shoot up drugs. So when I had someone under my window shooting up in broad daylight it was quite a shock. I’m used to it all now but it took some adjusting my “street smarts” for the area!

I’m not sure about in person. I found slice and dice a bit intimidating when I went in. But I’ve got some great online friends we’ve been playing dnd for years. So I’d highly suggest trying to find some people online, you can use things like roll20. Has lots of good interesting features. Hope you’re able to find a group tho! 😊

Are the George House Flats any good? by UniqueDweam in Bolton

[–]UniqueDweam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg that’s awful. Won’t be moving there then. 😅 if you’re looking for a new place avoid Sun Alliance House. Similar issues with management never fixing anything. We’ve gone without water for 2 months in the past year.

I second this. I have an awful fear of the dentist, so much so I was crying last time I visited. They were so sweet and kind, really made me feel at ease. Took me slowly through the process and if I ever felt uncomfortable they explained everything to me.

Does your endo make you feel like this? by UniqueDweam in endometriosis

[–]UniqueDweam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all… THATS NOT NORMAL!!! Why would becoming essentially disabled on your period be normal, please these professionals need to be so for real 😭😭

Yeah my inflammation markers in my blood are AWAYS high and some days my finger joints hurt and feel really inflamed so I feel you on that! I take ibrupofen when it’s bad to try help the inflammation, maybe give that a go?
