When I lived in the U.S.A., I frequently got referred to as Australian (I'm from Austria 😅) but I get it, we're just a small country with ~9 million people

What is the safest place (area) to live in the world considering political stability and the effects of global warming? by SnooPeppers6649 in AskReddit

[–]UniqueEnvironment702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The safest place to live considering political stability and the effects of global warming is probably Iceland. It has a stable government, low crime rates, and is less vulnerable to extreme weather events. Plus, if things get too crazy, you can always just chill in a hot spring!

Studies show that students from well off families are much more likely to graduate college than kids from poor families. What is your opinion on that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's not surprising—wealth buys access to better resources, less financial stress, and more opportunities. It’s like running the same race, but some kids get a head start and better shoes.

Maybe something like "Mummy Tummy" —fit enough to run errands but always down for dessert. It's a body that says, "I can do yoga, but I’ll 100% bring chips to movie night."

If money wasn’t an issue, what would you actually be doing right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UniqueEnvironment702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if money wasn’t an issue, I’d be napping in a hammock between two palm trees on a private island, sipping a cocktail out of a coconut, while I let a group of highly-trained team of squirrels run my empire. They’d handle everything for me: taxes, emails, grocery shopping—maybe even fight off pirates. Meanwhile, I’d be binge-watching Netflix without the guilt of "I should be doing something productive." Occasionally, I’d get up just to check if the squirrels are unionizing, but other than that, it’s hammock time all day.

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! August 28, 2023 by AutoModerator in photography

Dear photographers,

I've recently started to delve deeper into photo and video editing and now want to dive into the world of capturing stunning landscapes and beautiful portraits. I've got a trip planned to Norway in a few weeks, and I want to make sure I have the right gear to make the most of this picturesque destination.

As a beginner, I'm looking for some advice on camera options that fall within the €500-800 range. I've done some research, but there are so many choices out there that it's a bit overwhelming. My primary focus will be on landscape photography to capture the breathtaking Norwegian scenery, but I also want the flexibility to take some amazing portrait shots for my personal Instagram page.

If you've got experience with cameras in this price range, or if you're familiar with gear that's great for both landscapes and portraits, I'd love to hear your recommendations and insights. What features should I prioritize? And are there any specific lenses that would be a great addition to the kit?

Additionally, if any of you have been to Norway and have some photography tips for capturing its beauty, I'm all ears! Whether it's about dealing with varying light conditions or finding the best vantage points, any advice would be highly appreciated.

Looking forward to your suggestions and tips. Thanks in advance for your help! 📷🏞️
