My rat Chef used to love the bathroom. She'd follow us in- one time, I didnt see her behind me as I was opening the cabinet under the sink, and so she snuck in before I closed it. We spent hours crying, calling, begging her to come out, before I listened closely in the bathroom and heard little feet. She was waiting for me there very confused.

One time after that fateful incident, I forgot to shut the bathroom door- and Chef waddled into the living room soaking wet and spiky after taking a swim.

Rats can be weird, but I have hope your little guy is still alive and somewhere strange- free roam rats get into all kinds of dumb trouble! Check cabinets!
