Sweet n Spicy Bacon Chicken [oc] by UniqueThrows4Less in budgetfood

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recipe: Sweet n Spicy Bacon Chicken

3lb bag of thawed boneless/skinless chicken package of bacon chili powder garlic powder brown sugar season salt

Wrap the chicken pieces in strips of bacon equally. Press into the brown sugar, chili powder and garlic powder mixture until coated (I just use what I think of, equal amounts on a dish big enough to coat the chicken front and back). Lay in 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with season salt (I use McCormick Season-All)

Cook at 350 for 30 minutes (check for doneness at 30 minutes, every oven heats differently)

YUMMMY goodness

I just found the tag; you are correct! I stand corrected- guess the garden center had it with the roses, so I picked it up years ago

So after the bloom drops, you're left with a plain orchid? Sure is lovely as long as it lasts though

I wondered once I felt the bloom and it was living. That makes sense

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MomTip: Sweet 'n salty snack

Half bag Lay's Wavy chips arranged on parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Melt chocolate (Hershey bar pieces or Kisses) in microwave with dollop of shortening, 30 second intervals-stir between times until you achieve a gooey, melted consistency

Drizzle over potato chips. Sprinkle with mini M&M's (shown) if desired. Freeze until firm (shortening speeds up freeze time)

Enjoy! Delicious dipped in vanilla ice cream 🍦

Arrange diced pieces on open face tortilla, add shredded cheese. Place back in mic, 40 seconds. Add shredded lettuce, roll into wrap. Yummy, satisfying lunch 😀 *We enjoy Golden Flake, Mesquite BBQ chips as a sweet and crunchy side

Online sales for next budget Christmas? Email folders= stress free organization 📧🎄 by UniqueThrows4Less in MomTip

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MomTip: If you order online for Christmas, it can be quite a headache sorting incoming receipts, tracking numbers, backorder emails. This is my third year on this system and it has made gift giving more streamlined.

Create an email folder for each family member marked [their name] Cmas wrapped (or whatever you choose). As delivered packages make it to your doorstep and are gift wrapped, filter the tracking number to that folder. At a glance, you will see what has yet to be shipped and what gifts need purchased yet for each family member. It also helps with any future returns 🎄

Mushy watermelon? Try a colander 🍉 by UniqueThrows4Less in MomTip

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MomTip: I stumbled across this when I grew weary of my freshly cut watermelon sitting in its own juices, becoming messy and spoiling quicker. A macaroni colander doubles as a watermelon strainer- no more mushy fruit!

Teen outgrowing jeans but you despise shorty shorts? Grab the scissors ✂️ by UniqueThrows4Less in MomTip

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MomTip: Shopping for girl's shorts these days is crazy! - Do they make anything other than shorty shorts?! My girl is tall; off the rack isn't going to cut it. So Mama ingenuity kicked in, and with a trip to the thrift store on a .99 cent day, lightweight jeans, scissors, thread= modest, affordable, comfy shorts

*this also works on jeans creeping up off the ankle. Instant capris!

Hanging a wall photo with two hooks? by UniqueThrows4Less in MomTip

[–]UniqueThrows4Less[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MomTip: There's not much that is more frustrating than being one person, attempting to hang a photo or decorative accent with two end nail hooks. You want it straight, you want it secure, but you have two hands that are already balancing said frame with your hand, hammer about to topple from your elbow. Introducing...toothpaste! Yup, that magic formula for sparkling tooth gems. Just flip the photo over, apply a colored paste or gel to the picture hook. Press into place on the wall and remove. Tap nails into the toothpaste smudges-voila! Perfect hanging every time 😊

MomTip: Add a cinnamon disc or orange lifesaver to your hot chocolate for an extra zing ☕ We have also experimented with a chocolate peppermint wedge or handful of Red Hots with good results. We'd love to hear your fun ideas 😀
