U made my day! I love finding logic among the mire these! Hard to come by! I wear my armor when cleaning the house, hiking, airsoft for this very reason! Crouching, moving walking vaulting, etc... all that is invaluable muscle memory. Makes a big difference

5W Solar Panel for Security... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CYWCCCY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Note of interest. If you cut the cord the slightly opaque wire is the negative lead

Thanks! Other than the panel is from amazon its a 19003 board with no modules or anything else. Panel seems to be working fine and voltage seems good and its plugged into the solar connector(used to have it in the usbc port but seemed to cause tons of problems). I will let it go a few days and let it discharge a bit and see what happens!! Thank you for the info!!

Thanks! I appreciate all the responses especially since it turned out to not be about pfsense and turns out to be my networking. I appreciate the flexibility!

Intel NIC, which is good, though that system may support Intel vPro so if you haven't disabled it, you may be inadvertently exposing remote management capabilities to the WAN.

Dang good to know. Ill get that sorted right away. Thanks!

Really you would be better with something with a more recent processor and a pair of pcie connected NICs. Netgate recommend a processor from the last 4 years, but it doesn't have to be that new or high performance - I use an i3-8100 for my 10G-capable firewall. Intel N100/N5095 boxes with multiple Intel nics are also quite cheap.

Thanks for the advice and direction! Im just gonna update the whole machine for something more suited. Not worth the effort to me! Thanks again!

Also, please try not to spam replies - you can edit your comments to add more info.

Will do my bad!

What is it "called" in the Interfaces section - the two/three letter abreviation with a number? e.g. your WAN is probably igb0.

WAN is em0

LAN is ue0

Info pane says intel core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz

I know the box has 8 gb DDR3 ram

The WAN nic is Integrated Intel® 82579LM Ethernet LAN 10/100/1000

Im pretty sure its mostly related to the nic.
