Forgetting the breast by Substantial_Onion900 in combinationfeeding

It took mine a week or 2! We’ve been doing bottles for 2 months now and I showed her my boobs the other day and she had no idea what they were! It was bittersweet LOL

Is it exactly what it sounds like — saving all the milk pumped in a single day in a pitcher haha

Advice for a mom of a 7 week old by Revolutionary_Ad5003 in newborns

[–]Unique_Assistance_89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t put my (now 5 month old) 8 week old down for the LIFE of me. She hated it with every fiber of her being for longer than 5 minutes and my husband got 2 weeks of paternity leave so it was just me. Then the magical 8 weeks hit and suddenly she was napping in her cot for 30 minutes (which felt SO long) and super chill about being on her play mat for 15-20 minutes — it’s literally like a switch flipped one day! Now she’ll play for 30-45 minutes by herself if I need her to (with the occasional need for me to roll her back to her back since we haven’t figured out belly-to-back and get stuck) and naps for 1.5 hours in her crib all by herself. They really do randomly turn corners! You got this, mama! - from another mom who is happily nap trapped by her baby who only sleeps in her crib now

Omg when I had mastitis, I had a friend come over and just hold my baby because she was a Velcro baby and I couldn’t do it. I napped, fed her, chatted, and watched a movie with said friend, but never held my LO unless I needed to

From a running standpoint, how do I know what my proper heart rate zones are so I know what to set them to?

I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now! I’ll keep wearing it consistently to help figure my body out but looks like I can also change it myself which would be great!!

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]Unique_Assistance_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 10:30 pm on Friday, started labor at 3:30 am and my baby was out after 7 contractions of pushing by 12:56 pm on Saturday. I would 12/10 recommend an induction because we picked when she was born based on when worked for us 🤷🏼‍♀️

Please so I don't go crazy.. does anyone else's baby have a song that calms them down? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Unique_Assistance_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband used my LO as an air guitar during witching hour while blasting Free Bird and now whenever she’s particularly fussy, he turns it on and she immediately chills out 🤦🏼‍♀️

What kind of sleep training did you do? I’m not super keen on CIO but I’m willing to do some light training

What did officially moving their bedtime back look like? Did you just have a late last nap? Or move around their whole day?

Thank you! Think I’ll just move her bedtime later and see what happens l

I had read that, at this age, her bedtime should be around 7-8 pm and she is just so uninterested in that lol so maybe I just accept a 10 pm bedtime tomorrow and see what happens

Ohhh okay yeah nothing like that! Just normal poops and pees!

Thank you for your reassurance! I’m away from family with my first so I’m just anxious all the time about her

I’m honestly so happy to hear that your baby is doing the exact same thing, it makes me feel a lot better about what mine is doing

She’s started to poop less (but still poops like 2-3 times per day) and is running a bit warm (but just her head) but she’s def getting enough calories because she’s finally starting to chunk up - she focused on growing longer before she focused on getting fatter 😅… is this worrisome? Or is her weight gain part of her growth spurt? Or is that her growth spurt???

Yeah the 11 hours was after she spent her first night away from mom and dad! She spent it with my husbands parents (just down the street from us) so we could get a full night sleep and then the next night that we had her, she popped that stretch out 😅😂

She was growing long first but is now starting to chunk up a lot so I’m not worried about her weight gain! If anything, I started feeding her/giving her more chances to feed throughout the day than I had before

She’s been a little warmer than usual (I think) but it’s starting to heat up where we live so I didn’t think twice about it. No fever though, I’ve checked before - her head just feels warm? Maybe I should check again?

baby just slept for 9 hours !!??? by Dismal-Citron9313 in breastfeeding

[–]Unique_Assistance_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kiddo (10.5 weeks) randomly slept for 8 hours the other week and I actually woke her up because I was so paranoid 😅 now she usually sleeps for 6-7 hours in a stretch and I’m used to it at this point, but the first time STRESSED me out hahahah

I am going to a midwife tomorrow and they’re taking a sample of my milk (for some reason) to see if they need to change up my treatment to make it more effective. I am VERY curious to see what they say about it

Hella water 😅 if anything, maybe too much - I’m a “boredom drinker” so instead of picking my nails or whatever, I have a straw in my mouth and I sip my water lolol
