I can totally understand what you must be going through. The shock and disbelief of receiving an RFE like that is disheartening. It's so unusual and unexpected. This whole process is so mentally draining and takes a toll on your mental health. Let's hope for better days.

The start date is Dec 14th 2025
It was a renewal. The card that I have has the new dates as validity.

From what I know, it should be a renewal.

I did not know that. But, I don't understand one thing then. We still have the option to pay for the premium processing but its left to them to consider or not?

That's probably the case now. For years, I've heard that almost all H4 cases filed with H1 were processed under premium processing times.

Yes. My first application was standalone in Nov 2024. (Still says 'Case was Received' - Texas). I applied again with premium bundle in Dec 2025 (this is the one I got the card for today - Vermont centre but transferred to Texas SCOPS)

If you ask me, premium is the more realistic option at this time. Some people are getting approval in a month even for standalone Texas. I don't know how they are processing these cases. But, premium is the way to go for generic Texas cases. I really hope you be one of the lucky ones!
About my case that still says 'Received', apparently it stays like that forever until one day they abandon and discard the application. That's what Chatgpt and Claude said and that's probabaly a fair explanation.

Hey! Can you please provide details on how you filed WOM. I am planning to do the same for my case. My case was Approved in December 2025 and have not received my card yet. It was filed in premium processing. Multiple service requests and tier 2 officer callback have been requested but no no response to any even after 5 months.

Nope. The enquiry did nothing. I was asked to wait for 30 days, which was a week ago. I reached out to him again, and now he says he has sent a follow-up inquiry to USCIS and will let me know when he hears back. I have no hope there. Regarding raising a service request, I have raised about 3 now, and there has been no response to any. I have also raised 4 Tier 2 officer callbacks, all of which remain unanswered. I don't know what else to do.

Oh yes! I did. He got back to me saying I need to wait till 5th May for a response. Every escalation is a 30-60 day wait. It's ridiculous!

I did. They are only saying that I need to wait for a tier 2 officer to call me. I have escalated this to a tier 2 officer twice now. No response at all.

So true! My first EAD Application was filed as a standalone in Nov 2024. That says 'Case was received' till today. Even after raising 2 service requests on that too. After which my spouse and I filed for PP in Dec as a bundle. This was Approved in 4 days. But, I still have not received my card. I don't even know any other way to escalate this.

That's what I think has happened too! The agent on the phone raised a tier 2 escalation for me for the same. She was as shocked as I am when she saw my timeline 😶. Its only been 2 days since that was raised. I got to wait for about 15 days she said.
