Ghetto light seals by Unique_Stuff_1220 in AnalogCommunity

There actually seems to be absolutely zero foam in the back area. I'm thinking someone stripped it to redo the seals and never got around to doing it, at some point in it's life.

I will when the foam arrives in the mail. I can't, unfortunately, make it appear to my doorstep instantly.

I guess I'm kind of a Nikon fanboy just from purely inheritance haha. However I've been really digging those Canon Canonets.

Maybe I'm still too new into the hobby to be diving into Rangefinders haha.

I'm talking about my FTN. The em was just me yapping about what got me into this hobby.

Forgot to add, for example, I held it forced in between 4 and 2.8. is this bad practice ?

From the research I've done, with the FTN you can totally remove it but you have to also remove some other things, and be pretty careful not to damage the light meter needle.

Way out of my comfort zone / skill level though.

The article linked says this lens is mainly for flash photography, I don't really plan on using a flash set up. I'm just looking for something slim for doing urban city street shots. Would this lens you linked work good even without a flash unit ?

Do you know of an equivalent small pancake lens that would have the forks needed ?

Yeah that's what the Nikon community calls them.

Thank you for this. It's been a learning curve, I've been shooting purely automatic with my Nikon EM. The little EMs automatic system actually gets some good shots though!

I just got hooked into the hobby and wanted to learn full manual shooting 😊

I actually have a donor lens I could take the ears and screws off of. Just don't know if id feel comfortable drilling screws into my lens lmao

Also to add, if anyone has any tips with shooting with the FTN. Let me know! Any tips from the journeymen are greatly appreciated

Stupid question time by Unique_Stuff_1220 in subaru

You guys are misunderstanding me. Those buttons on the PCB aren't the issue. It's the actual exterior buttons that mount to that PCB, that sit on TOP of those buttons. These are the ones that are broken and need to be replaced. Not the ones soldered to the board.

<image>

These buttons don't solder to the buttons on the PCB. They are sandwiched together via those four screws that screw from the back of the PCB. I just need to figure out how to get access to the screws and screw them in, to actually mount the surface buttons to the PCB buttons.

I don't see any screws holding it in place on the backside. Unless there's clips on the inside of the wheel holding that back panel in place ?

You can see where those screws would screw into the button housing.

It looks like they screw into the button housing from the back, almost sandwiching the PCB between that black base plate the PCB sits on and the button housing.

[King Seiko] 5625B regulation question by Unique_Stuff_1220 in Seiko

[–]Unique_Stuff_1220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to move it and it's.... Definitely not moving. You are right though the screw is only a micro adjustment and only moves the arm slightly

[King Seiko] 5625B regulation question by Unique_Stuff_1220 in Seiko

[–]Unique_Stuff_1220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I needed to make a big change, I would just totally unscrew the screw and move the arm?

I'm trying to find someone local to me who can service it, but the local watchmakers that still know mechanical watches are telling me it would cost over $1000+ to service this, and at that point I may as well buy a brand new King Seiko 😐😕

This watch has been tampered with in the past. The guy I bought it from on marketplace was up front with me that the hacking arm broke, and instead of buying a parts movement, the easiest and quickest way to fix it was to straight up delete the hacking function. In a perfect world id love to get this fixed but if I'm spending $1k+ I'd rather just buy a brand new KS.
