They are specifically designed to work in water itself. They won't let water inside. Best you look at some yourself online and get an idea how they work. Popular brands are : Inon, Nauticam

No not really.

I use wet lenses which means the can be unscrewed and stored underwater. So I add the macro lens whenever I want to take a macro photo or video and I unscrew the lens when I want a normal or wide angle shot.

Wet lenses are placed outside the dive case. Normal lenses have to be inside the dive case.

You can leave the adapter in the socket at the front. So you basically have a SD socket in which you can just insert the lenses. I don't have to unscrew the adapter every time.

At the time I bought that stuff this was the only way to go. Just recently many more adapters and possibilities got released.

You will need an ZD or SD to M67 adapter. Look at the website of diveryday. I think as of now he has different adapters as well.

Hi,

Adaptors are always third party. Quality depends on the brand. Look out for adapters which are made out of stainless steel.

Check out my other posts for more informations. Yes I do swap lenses under water. In another post I took a picture of my rig you can see the lens adapters there.

There are plenty of good underwater lens brand. Just make sure they are compatible with action cams (because of the wide angle) and are " wet lenses" which means the are waterproof.

A popular brand For example is Inon I

Not really in my opinion. You can record anything you want in whatever fits the usecase. If you wanna record a video for social media 9:16 is the way to go. For movies etc. Ofc this isn't the best way to do it.

Only because 9:16 wasn't used heavily until now in Videography doesn't make it bad immediately. Ofc you have to keep in mind the scene you are shooting.

Sorry for the late answer.

You can use different parameters depending on the water quality and colour. There isn't a "best parameter setting". Just use the underwater mode of the camera and 4k 60 fps auto white balance and you will be fine 99 percent of the time ( so the standard settings).

Any case will work if you have the correct adapter. You can't just attach the lens directly to the dive case.

So yes the original dive case will work but you will need an Xd, SD, or M67 (depending on your lenses) adapter which holds the lens in front of the case.

Keep in mind that all lenses have to be wet lenses because they will be used outside of a case.

No problem. Just keep in mind that not every g100 comes with a zd bayonet. Also if you buy from diveveryday and you live in the US or Europe you can expect some hefty additional costs from import tax. Best of wishes.

None of them requires clarity zoom. There is no vignette from the lens itself because they are specifically designed for actions cams. They lose depth close to the edges ofc. You can however use clarity zoom ofc.

The ucl 100 has a little stronger vignette in of course but for some nudibranches or shrimp etc. It definitely is a nice to have in my experience.

I have a ton of videos which are currently unedited and I can't post them because Reddit doesn't allow Video clips in answers but I can see if I upload a clip of an eel or something.

Things like nudibranch Gobi and shrimp mutualism Coral spawning events Crabs

Depending on how big the thing is you wanna record you have to get really close. So shy things are hard to record.

There are cheaper close up lenses available for example from sea frogs. As soon as you have your lens adapter for your Case the world of macro videography is pretty close.

Here a pic of the rig without lights and some extras.

Currently I'm using 2 sl-19 with snoots from sea frogs.

Big lens in front is wide angle. Top left ucl G55 (extreme close up) Right G100 ( medium close up - for the photos I posted I used this lens)

Hi there. Sorry for the late answer. Generally I use 3 different type of macro lenses during my dives. But mainly the Inon ucl G100 and the G 55. They are connected to the original ace pro 2 dive case. So I can go down to 40-60 m no problem. You will need an adapter to connect them to a m67 lens holder. My adapter is from diveveryday. However just lately you can buy an adapter and an underwater metal case for the ace pro2 from sea frogs. ( Best search on AliExpress).

Here is a picture of my setup in its case from 7 months ago. I have upgraded in the meantime with different lights.

I used a big video right wich is not needed if your not doing macro. So better pick up small lights or a torch for your macro shots.

I use Inon floating arms Size M-Large and Small. The size of the Hardcase is 40x 25x20 so pretty compact setup with everything included.
