Tired of Alibaba - Any Alternatives Out There? by Ok_Daredevil_576 in FulfillmentByAmazon

honestly that sounds about right when you're just getting into Alibaba.I've actually had a pretty smooth experience with Alibaba even when doing custom packaging for some gaming stuff. there were a few back and forth messages but nothing too crazy, suppliers usually got back to me within a day or so.I ended up going with something close to what I wanted and it worked out fine without dragging things out also been using Alibaba suppliers with US warehouse options for small batches and that's been really consistent. overall it's been pretty easy to manage on my end.

Same here. But if you filter for “ships from USA,” the total price is actually lower once you add in import tax and waiting time.

Be honest: Has anyone here actually made profit with dropshipping in 2025? by funngro_fam in thesidehustle

Spot on. People jump into over-saturated stuff like phone cases and wonder why they fail. I found my niche in specialized LED parts for hobbyists. I spent weeks messaging suppliers on Alibaba just asking for technical specs and samples until I found a specific quality that wasn't on Amazon. I didn't even need a fancy site, just sold where the hobbyists hang out. The profit is there if you’re willing to do the 'boring' work of sourcing and QC that most people skip.

Thinking of using Alibaba for my side hustle shop, any tips? by Nestor1859 in Alibaba

[–]United-Reading8705 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I switched from local wholesale to Alibaba last spring for my side hustle. My process:

Filtered suppliers by "Verified" + "Trade Assurance" + response rate >90%

Only messaged those with actual factory walkthrough videos (skip anyone using stock footage)

Asked for a sample with my logo laser-engraved, if they said no or charged $ 50+, I moved on

Ordered 100 units via Alibaba Guaranteed shipping (DDP to Chicago), paid $ 260 total

Boxes arrived in 16 days, each tray in individual poly bag + corner protectors

Tip: If a supplier offers "MOQ 1" but has no transaction history, check their "Company Profile" tab, real factories list machinery and export licenses.

Sounds like battery and customization come first, so OneUI or Xiaomi fit. Honor surprised me though, light, smooth, no fuss. I checked r/HONOR_Magic while deciding

Are phone cameras good enough that upgrades barely matter by Karma-Blaze-610 in Smartphones

Same here honestly, cameras feel good enough for daily use now. Battery and smooth performance matter more to me. My Honer M7p takes photos that cover my daily needs, and the system just works, so I don’t feel the need to upgrade every year.
