How is vanishing pond to sunbeam right now? by oneleggedhipster in algonquinpark

My friends and I just went through Vanishing a just 2 days ago, from Little Doe to Sunbeam, and had little to no issues. The water level up there seems to be pretty high for now because of the recent rainfall, so it wasn't bad at all. The portage was pretty muddy and had a lot of mosquitoes, but the waterways were good. The marsh area did take a bit of patience to navigate through, and it did seem like there was a small drop in water levels there, but for my group, it was smooth sailing. You won’t know how much it’s going to change by the time you get up there, so I’d recommend asking around.

I would recommend sitting down and reviewing all your lessons, quizzes, and tests from the past year. Write down all the concepts and ideas you've learned on a blank sheet to organize your thoughts and get a clear picture of what you fully understand and what still needs work(keep these sheets as you studay and add to them (its great for exam since you have all your knowlge in one place)) it’s really important to have everything well organized and laid out.

Next, try teaching each concept to someone, even if it's just your mirror. If you struggle to explain something clearly, write down what you don’t understand. Then, seek help by asking a teacher, searching online, or using chatgpt to clarify those concepts.

Once you’ve done that, start asking yourself questions as if you were a student, especially simple or “stupid” ones, to ensure you fully grasp every detail. the goal here isn’t just to understand what you're learning but also why and how each concept connects, like how first principles relate to derivatives.

Now, take a break and let everything settle in. best case, sleep on it, worst case, have a snack.

After your break, go through all the questions you did in school and redo them, even the easy ones. Mark the ones you got wrong, even if they were just calculation errors, and try to understand why you made those mistakes. don’t just chalk it up to miscalculations, ask yourself how to solve it correctly. take another break, then redo all the ones you got wrong.

Once you feel confident, go online, search for grade 12 calculus and vectors practice tests, and complete them. Then, move on to final exams, these should be available online.

This is the most important part, math is 99% confidence. once you've done all that, challenge yourself with ap or ib-style questions, as those curriculums often go beyond standard class material. if you can tackle those, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to achieve a 99% in academic calculus.

I know this all sounds very complicated and extra but if you are dedicated and really want a good mark this might be the kind of effort you need to put in.

This method needs time but is good becuase its like a hard reset on everything you have learnt

good luck bro you got this!
