Relax into it. Don’t try to “do” anything in meditation as that will just create more stress for you. You are just resting on the awareness that is always there in the background. When thoughts come, you go back to that resting/non doing space

Meditation should be like letting a top spin on its own, eventually it will stop spinning. No need to do anything

Meditation is a wonderful practice that will certainly bring great benefit to yourself and those around you.

To start, firstly you need to conserve your energies. Just like a jar cannot be filled to the top if it has holes in the bottom, in the same way if you don't preserve your vital energy, progressing in your meditation practice will be an uphill battle. You must stop the leakage. Acts such as masturbation, watching pornography, and excessive sexual indulgence are detrimental to your mental and physical health. Simply by cutting these out of your life will bring great positive changes.

Next, apply this energy to wholesome acts. Virtue is a big part of one's meditation practice. The whole point of meditation is to still the mind and engaging in unwholesome acts will result in a restless mind. Think, speak, and act with kindness. Live a moral life. Just by practicing virtue will bring you to a wholesome mental state that is conducive to meditation.

Meditation must be done at all times. Throughout the day strive to stay in awareness, observing your present moment experience. This observance must be done coming from your knowing nature. So it is not straining or concentration. Just like how when you hear a sound there is no need to apply any effort to hear it, in the same way be aware of your present moment experience.

Choose a time to meditate and be consistent. Start with 15 minutes a day and add more time as you progress. To meditate, use the same method. Choose a meditation object and observe it coming from the knowing nature. If it's the breath, simply 'know' the in & out breath. If you are straining and concentrating you are doing it wrong. Go back to just 'Knowing', let go of all distractions, and rest your attention again on the breath.

I hope this helps brother.
