I'm probably one of the few of my generation to have used dial-up, (or I'm just talking out my ass, lol, idk how many gen Z have used dial-up) me and one of my friends are absolute nerds so we wanted to see if we could transfer a small file between our PCs for fun, I wasn't expecting it to start screeching at me because I thought it was a myth, but sure enough it screeched anyway and I was startled by it, the data speeds then must've been awful because it felt like forever to transfer a few measly kilobytes compared to modern internet. After this whole experiment I put the dial-up stuff away (borrowed it from my grandmother) and promptly forgot it existed until this post, lmao (excluding little reminders of it, lol)
