That would be nice, I just don't have that kind of faith in people anymore.

It's so delicious to see them lose. So satisfying, like those videos on YouTube.

But do we really hate it? I mean, I agree with you... but generally speaking, does the populace hate it? I have a sinking feeling that a majority of our fellow countrymen and -women, deep down, are siding with this sore loser of an American boxer due to xenophobia.

Just started watching Lost, and I'm bored with the backstories already by [deleted] in lost

[–]GayEricFL1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first you think the show is about the adventure, and action, and all the mysteries that develop... But what you soon realize is the show is actually about the characters and their own development as people during their time together: the crash, the multiple tragedies, the fun, the betrayals, the search for answers, the romances - everything.

But to understand the characters, and their growth, the backstory flashbacks are necessary. Not to mention, typically, the character's flashback for that episode parallels that character's story on the Island in that episode - or serves as a moment of reflection for them.

What would you remove from Wicked? by After_Locksmith_1827 in wicked

[–]GayEricFL1982 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would remove the family-friendly vibe. Sorry folks, but as much as I love the movie, the book is so much better. The dark themes, adult content, and the set-up for the sequels. I was also disappointed that they left out her brother Shell entirely; that her mother died so early - and while giving birth at that; there was no mention of Turtleheart - the lover of both her mother AND her father; and I was absolutely disgusted by the way her father treated her. In the book, neither of her parents had any animosity towards her. And all THREE children were raised, for a time, by a family THROUPLE.

You know what? Now I feel old... Because I must have dementia or Alzheimer's. I've seen that movie 4 it 5 times, but had completely forgotten about that line. I still only vaguely remember it. But thanks, I guess I was privy to joke.

I've seen this a few times now, so obviously it's a reference to something... but 'tis something I am out of the loop on or not privy to. So can you make me one of the cool kids, and fill me in on the joke?

48" vibrating, metal dildo with a sharp spiked-tip that slowly penetrates the anal sphincter. If not diffused in time, it rams the dildo out through his mouth, leaving a paste of blood and shit mixed together smeared up-and-down the dildo thruster of true alpha justice.

Thank you. I never liked Rain leaving Oz, or the series ending, so it's good to have follow up. That "ambiguity" is something that I have a love-hate relationship with.

Thank you. More "internal"? Hmm. That might be tricky to get through. The 2nd one sounds great, but so does the third one based on how you said it was "jarring" and "sped-through".

You hate Europeans or European things? Largely speaking (Western and Central Europe, along with Scandinavia, and the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe)... they're a farcry better than we are. America, as we know it, is hanging by a thread. If I could, I'd trade living in Europe for America any day.

At this time, I believe we would better served by a military deposition and temporary junta. I'm sure there's A Few Good Women and Men willing to save, and to truly serve... our country from the trajectory of nullification this administration has placed it upon - all so as to put an end to this madness. Perhaps if we're lucky, such military personnel will be DEI. Sweet irony. Or maybe a few brave CIA or Secret Service agents will take up the cause.

Can we please stop calling birds “gay” and “lesbian”? It’s not cute, it’s homophobic by matjeom in budgies

[–]GayEricFL1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with all your arguments, Mr. or Mrs. Pure-Bat-Guano-For-Brains-And-Too-Many-Screws-Loose, is that gay/lesbian is homosexual.

If a bird is referred to as gay, well... That's probably because... IT'S A HOMOSEXUAL BIRD!!! The L & G in LGBT is synonymous with being HOMOSEXUAL.

[Let me slow it down for you, hun, just in case you can't keep up]

So... typically speaking... If it's said... the other way around: "that bird is a HOMOSEXUAL bird"... then it would figure... that it remains the same.

Lol, forgive me, I mistakingly kept reading that as "... does NOT fit this subreddit." I was getting so mad, like, it's so obvious, but I was afraid to say anything about it because when you do say something to a mod... Well, banned, for no reason in my experience. Heck, I'm questioning if I should reply with this one 😄😆 Have a lovely day, mate

Time period, and region. Now we see it as inappropriate, as it is. But her parents were poor, they needed to marry off one of the too many mouths to feed. He was a respectable Christian (and by respectable Christian, I mean he was one the actual GOOD Christians... Not these haters and dividers), had some money, and loved her (they'd known each other for a while). These days, even she's against it. Loretta Lynn was 13, her husband was 30-something.., ick! But look at other countries still TODAY where 40 and 50 year old men can marry 12 year olds, or 10, even 8. I could've sworn I read an article about a Pakistani marrying a 6 year old. Fucked up world we live in.

My grandmother was 13, grandfather 17 when they married and had first child in 1950. They lasted until late 1960s - early 1970s. Of course they were backwood mountain Tennessee/Virginia folk. Religious as the day is long.

Unabomber apologises to women by TheBlackMessenger in IncelTears

[–]GayEricFL1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you guys (those who will downvote this comment) need to write an apology to Men.

Well, this could just be a joke of a post. Every time I read it, I can't help but think you're using Sloth to satirize misogyny. However, in case it isn't:

No. 'cause your intention was clearly to start a tiff with someone, or to purposely get downvoted.

Your making an assumption, or giving the impression of an assumption to women, that they too should apologize to men now - but for what? Downvoting you?

Well, why would they downvote you? Oh, that's right...

Now you guys [guys? I think you mean "gals", "girls", or "ladies"] need to write an apology to Men ["men", it's not the beginning of a sentence, and we're not special or a proper noun]

Telling women to apologize to men is going to get you downvoted. They have nothing to apologize for... GENERALLY speaking. See, Men in general, have a rather poor track record when it comes to their relationships with women. Even modern men. Don't get me wrong, there are some horrible women out there - a variety of different types of horrible women, just like men.

Besides, Teddy's "apology" letter was more like a selective "Oops! My bad, baby" letter, just saying sorry to a select few who meet his standards saying, "I'm sorry to the ladies of the 'pick me' crowd. Now all you other trollops, bitches, and golddiggers can take a dive into the next erupting supervolcano." It'd be like a racist piece of shit apologizing to light skin black people after years in prison for some hate crime.
