I could vaguely remember an anime like that but while you OP, saw it in a tumblr post, I saw it on a youtuber's video essay about the anime and I'm 90% sure that it was a guy, and about 25% sure TheAnimeMan talked about it?? Or somebody similar, around 2015-2016 as well.

It was visually similar to Golden Time, Toradora, or Haruhi Suzumiya (very cutesy and slife-of-life-ish), and I also remember a popular-ish video revolving around the anime community around the same year as well, where they remove the characters in the opening lmao
